Hi guys. I've been reading through some of the threads on this site and everyone is talking about drafting Jay Cutler (QB). I strongly disagree with this. I think the Dolphins should get an offensive tackle. Our O-line is horrible and needs some serious help. Remember, games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage.

Besides, do you really want to put a top prospect QB behind this line? A top notch QB in today's NFL is a huge investment .... and right now, we just don't have the ability to protect an investment like that. Miami QBs have been getting destroyed behind Miami's O-line for the past few years. This problem needs to be addressed immediately!

Our OL is horrible? That's news to me...

Sure I'd like a LT but to say our OL is horrible is a bit stupid actually...

i saw the other day that we were like 4th in sacks allowed this year with something like 21...those were numbers we had when danny and his release were slinging it back in the day...

Get real son. This line has improved some much compared to last season. I would like to see us address an O-lineman maybe in the 3rd round, unless there is a guy sittin in the middle of the first that you just can't pass on.

Yea, IMO the O-line is horrible. I'm tired of watching our QBs get lit up with no chance to make a throw, constant penetration by defenders into the backfield, no forward surge on short yardage, etc. Yea, I think the word horrible pretty much hits the nail on the head. Sorry if that offends you .... but hey, sometimes the truth hurts.

We are actually ranked 5th in the league in pass protection and we are also one of the most potent rushing attacks in the league. Improvement is always welcome, but the desperation for help on the OL is a bit exaggerated in this thread.

QB is definitely a more pressing issue that O-line. Houck has done miracles with this unit, so I think calling them "horrible" is a bit of a stretch.

we have had some issues and its obvious center and lg and lt could be upgraded, but the numbers dont lie, we have grown by leaps and bounds

You're living in the past. :D

We definitly need a LT Macintosh is decent at best, but our online is no where near horrible, last year was horrible, i think they are vastly improved, do I think they are top 5? no, maybe not even top 10 yet... but even Houck and Saban have said it will take a year for a Line to really turn it around and to grasp Houck's style, i think they have shown TONS of improvment in less than a year, they went from the worst line in the league to being one of the best as far as sacks allowed, and they are starting to show a mean streak in run blocking, they still need more improvement, id like to see a new LT, and even maybe a LG James is a little above average, he isnt a bad lineman but he isnt a great one. but other than that if you kept these guys together next year with the exception for LT i think we can be top 10 or top 5.

The guy I'm waiting to see play C is Wade Smith next season if he's back. The guy always had a great physical package, just at the wrong position. He's a prototypical C though physically.

O-line before the QB.
This O-line is not that good and needs improvment.

With a better O-line, the qb will be better (no matter who it is)

Tell that to Tom Brady. Look at what mix and match players he succeeds behind. Even Peyton Manning's OL doesn't have any high picks except for Glenn.
