Yes, I am utterly disgusted that we lost, but we really needed this loss.

I've mentioned in other threads that Houston is probably the third toughest game on our schedule. (Behind SD and Denver.) I'm glad we hung in there as long as we did.

Yes, there were some nice positives, like the turnovers and the long TD plays.

But we were not the same team that beat SD and NE. You could tell right off the bat.

Our D had flashes, they had some great plays, followed by some utter crap. Our secondary looked like crap all day.

Can anyone tell me why Daniels and Johnson were so damn wide open all day long?

Even our line got caught guessing, giving up some pretty big run plays.

You can't blame it all on the D though, they were out there a long time. The offense couldnt get first downs. We couldnt move the ball on the ground, and we couldnt give penny time to throw.

Imagine what the score would have looked like without the turnovers? We lost and we should have lost by a whole lot more.

Houston looked ALOT more hungry than we did.

No, the season isnt over, the world isnt coming to an end. Today showed us all (fans, players, front office) that we still have work to do.

Our D needs to stop 3rd down conversions. Our O needs to complete them.

We need ALOT of work in the secondary, and we need alot of work at WR and on the Oline.

We need alot of work on special teams as well.

We have a couple of home games coming up, lets hope we can get some of this **** fixed.

But make no mistake about it, Houston was the better team out there today.

Agree we should have won this game but in the end we got out played. Hopefully we can come back from this loss next week.

Just a young and inexperienced team. They'll lose these games and win games they shouldn't. I'm happy this team is competetive again. Before pre-season I thought they'd go 8-8 and be in playoff contention for a while and I'm still holding to that estimate. This team has given us fans more than we could have imagined thus far in the season. Onward and upward.

Texas was definitely the better team today, but we remained competitive. I feel we showed glimpses today, but if we could have put everything together, Houston would have been an easy ride.

The offense deserved to win. They did they're job. What's the defenses excuse? 'uhh we choked.. and it was an all game long sorta choke, where we couldnt stop the run and certainly not the pass.'

I anticipated this loss. This team has our number. But i'm really embarrased by our defensive effort out there.

The 4th down catch made over Bell on the last drive was an all pro catch. I told my wife after that play we're beat, I could feel it coming. But for the life of me why wasnt there someone on that last play camped at the goaline to counter a QB draw?

Totally agree with you, this looks like the same Miami Dolphins defense of the Wandsted era, they where solid playing in Miami, and looked like garbage when on the road.

I was very pleased with the creativity shown by our OC, and the solid play of Chad and our RB's. That being said, its pretty evident that we need to get rid of some WR's next year (Wilford, Hagan, Ginn Jr) and find a solid Andre Jhonson type of WR. OL was abused today on both OT positions, but I did saw Pennington not being able to get rid of the ball quickly, and the main reason is that WR's are not getting enough separation, only Camarillo deserves to be on this team. Bess deserves a place if he improves as a slot WR.

Now, the defense was horrible, it made me sick to watch our players getting owned on ground, on air and on ST, we are a BAD tackling team, and our secondary is really bad when they need to cover tall WR's. If we didn't have any turnovers the score should have been on the 40's range, that is how BAD our defense was. Just think, 2 interceptions and one fumble recovery, and still we were defeated because we were abused every time Houston had the ball. On the final Miami Dolphins drive I was wishing Ronnie din't get the touchdown until Houston had used all of their TO, cause I knew even with less than 1 minute on the clock they were going to be very dangerous, and I my worst fears came true as I saw that f**** ofense converting on long downs (low probability plays when you play a team with a "decent" defense) until they score that deserved touchdown. Pretty bad, LONG WAYS TO GO for our Defense and our ST!!!

First I don;t agree with the concept that the Dolphins didn't deserve to win...they were winning until the last play...4 and what 3 yds....and I wonder how many fans here said to themselves....watch out for the QB sneek...I know I saw it coming. Just like the game against the Jets....one play away from a win...if the Dolphins learned something from this game...then it was a loss one can stomach.

You're looking at one play. (Which btw, I'm sure 90% of us said to watch the run or sneak in some fashion, considering it was the last play of the game.)

Look at the whole game. We were beat down in almost every aspect of the game.

We were lucky to have some really nice plays on Offense, and some great turnovers.

Thats it.

I know alot of people are upset about a bad call or two (not that I disagree), or missed opportunities, or coaching decisions, etc etc.....

The game should have been over when Penny tossed the Int. We were yet again LUCKY, the ball was fumbled into our hands (btw, how many points did we take off the board because of Houston turnovers?), extending the game and letting us move ahead with a TD.

Playoff teams win these games. They win the ugly ones. This was an ugly one for us.

I'm not saying we can't improve. I'm not saying that we wont win one (or more) like this the rest of the season.

All I'm saying is this, the Miami Dolphins were not the better team out there sunday and didnt deserve to win.

Aside from the turnover margin, tell me ONE aspect of the game that we dominated in? Heck, not even dominated, tell me one aspect of the game that we were slightly better than Houston?

3 losses isnt the end of the world. This may be a good wake-up call for us after our high of beating NE and SD back to back.

We know what this team is capable of, they just didnt look the same this week, and they deserved to lose.

Even the 72 Dolphins won ugly games...the idea is to win...this is something that this young team will learn.
At least with the exception of the Cards game...they have been in every game...so far....which is a vast difference from the years past.

Despite all you just said, which was a great post, the Phins were 3 yds away from 3-2. We're that close already

Totally agree.

We were close to a win, and it stings to lose on the last play of the game, regardless of how well we played.

Lets hope we can build on this and become stronger this week against the Ravens.

Luckily, this isnt college ball and we can afford to lose a couple of games here and there.

The season is FAR from over folks. :)
