The Miami Herald reports that WR West Welker is recovering from offseason surgery on his left foot and is in a cast. He had surgery two weeks ago to clean out loose bodies in his ankle.

If Chambers or Booker got hurt it would seriously kill this team. Welker can't be the #2 guy and after a strong start completely disappeared as a 3rd WR last year. Campbell didn't even play football last year so there's no guarentee he's on the roster come cuts. This team also needs to groom someone to possibly replace Booker in a couple years when his age/salary become a concern. Not to mention with having someone who can play the outside means Chambers can be moved around more and the team can use more 3 WR sets.
 
it was a joke, it said West Welker like it was another reciever, i do think we need more depth

i would love to see us draft santonio holmes...he's going to be great. let him be the third for a year, then he can take over for booker come 2007.
 
Holmes or Chad would be a nice upgrade at our receiver spots.
 
so what happens if booker or chambers goes down? who plays the #2? welker? campbell? i dont think so. we need to pick up another wr...

Miami needs a big time receiver for big time moments in big time games. West Welker is a start, but I like Santonio Holmes and Chad Jackson.
