We dont get a pick for Chatman?

He did not gain 300 yards, as mentioned in the article, so we get no compensation. :rolleyes:

well ummm, I thought we got a 7th for him regardless and we could of moved up based on his ummmm play!
 
it was a conditional seventh round pick, and the condition was he get over 300 yards which he didn't so no pick.

btw seventh round picks are useless. dont get too excited by accumluating them.
 
thanks for confirming. not a big deal either way i guess. it was a decent move to try and get a pick for pretty much nothing

why not? he was solid depth while Ricky was out... Ricky came back and Chatman got the boot... what was the harm? I mean, we almost got a draft pick out of it...
 
It was a gamble that didnt pay off.Chatman was going to be cut anyway when Ricky got back.
 
Chatman did a great job backing up Tomlinson. He will be a great back-up....

I dont understand how some posters in here dont understand the value of a pick, regardless of where it is, a PICK, is a PICK, is a PICK.

Should we go through the process of who were successful 7th round picks were?

that makes at least two of us, it just kills me that people feel 7th rounders are throw- aways.

1994: Gus Frerrotte, 7th round, Washington Redskins :tongue:

Considering their 1st round pick that year was Heath Shuler, Frerrotte was a steal! :lol:
 
That's too bad we don't get the pick...but, for what it's worth, news sources are often wrong about the actual terms of these deals. I'm not saying that we are getting a pick after all, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if come next year we do have New Orleans' 7th round pick despite what the news sources said.

It looked to me from comments in the media that Saban did not like Jesse Chatman at all after he signed him. Now Haslett is cutting the guy because he doesn't "want to surround his team with players like that"

He was cut from San Diego for being a turd with an attitude, he was traded from Miami for being a turd with an attitude, and now he's been cut by New Orleans for being a turd with an attitude. That's three strikes. I'd be surprised if this guy was ever given a shot to be anything but training camp fodder ever again.
