We have 5 pass rushing OLBs (Joey Porter, Jason Taylor, Cameron Wake, Matt Roth, Charlie Anderson).

We're also pretty weak in the NT position.

Do you think we could trade 1 or 2 of our OLBs for a quality NT?

You know, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe Roth or Anderson are available now. Wake is going to be kept for development, obviously.

Go into camp and see if someone gets hurt. Although it seems like they would trade for a pick rather than a player.

I honestly don't see us letting any of those guys go. I agree we need another NT, but this probably ain't the way we get one.

I would rather see what Cohen, Soliai, and Ellis have to offer before getting someone else, if not......Let Fergie do the job this year and draft a stud next year, 3 or 4 nice prospects will be out there...

I heard that Darnell Docket is on the market I would love if we traded for that guy hes a beast maybe a second and third rounder.

I think that's a bit much for a player who's never played nose in college (FSU) or in the NFL (Arizona). I don't question his talent, just his ability to play the position.

Maybe for obvious passing downs, we could put in a heavy pass rush package.

RDE: Jason Taylor
NT: Jason Ferguson (correction: Randy Starks)
LDE: Matt Roth
WOLB: Joey Porter
ILB: Charlie Anderson
SOLB: Cameron Wake

So the opposing team doesn't know which 4,5,6 players will be rushing the passer (since any of the above players - besides the NT - could drop back in coverage).

If we rush with only 4, it could still be effective, since the opposing team has no idea which 4 will be coming, and from where.

And if we rush with all 6, it would be an insane storm of pass rushing talent coming from all angles.

I'm just wondering out loud how we could use all those pass rushing OLBs.

I seriously doubt we could get any real trade value for any of them. Porter maybe, but he's old and is probably worth a lot more to us than what we could get.

you replace Ferguson with Starks on passing downs (they do that now).

What you are talking about is somewhat similar to what a couple of 4-3 teams do, replacing DT's with DE's on passing downs (the Giants and Eagles are two I can think of that do it with good success)

We also have Tearrius George,Quentin Moses and Eric Walden at the position.

It would seem that the most likely to be traded would be Roth,Anderson and Moses because none of them is particularly effective on ST's.

As far as trading with AZ for a NT; the players to be considered would be 2nd stringer, Gabe Watson and 3rd stringer Alan Branch, although Branch would probably project to DE in our system just like McDaniel does.

The guy that we have that the Cardinals would most crave is probably Merling. They need to fill Antonio Smith's spot and Calias Campbell just isn't that good.

What's really available for trade at Nose Tackle? Shaun Rogers? Thats all I can think of and he has character issues.

Wow people are so panicky around here. We have Ferguson, Solial and Ellis for this year. Next year we address LB and NT. The sky is not falling people.
