I may be in fact the most vocal poster in here about anti-Tannehill. It is no secret I have said repeatedly for the better part of five years that he is not the answer at QB and merely another huge question mark.

All the stats and all the wins in 2016 are a mirage of what he really is. An average QB that folds in big moments and can’t put a team on his back and will it to victory. - horrible road QB and a disaster in the pocket.

Even the 3-0 start with insane QBR didn’t fool me and neither should it fool anyone. The offense has failed for the better part of five games and shows no signs of stopping.

We can blame all the linemen and the play calling and Gase. They have a part in this as well. Gase is a fraud and the sooner we move on the better. That is an entirely different topic.

As much as I like Minkah, our time to strike for a QB was last draft. If not previous drafts. But we continue to roll with RT and scrubs. So much so we had to panic and sign Cutler last year in early August off the scrap bin.

It is sad and truly pathetic that this franchise did not for the past four years get an heir apparent ready. Even the PATRIOTS work for an heir apparent. Not this team.

Gase and his ship will go down with RT. Gase will move on as an offensive coordinator someplace. RT will back up some better QB. And the cleanup in Miami will be years due to this complete incompetence at the top of a professional sports team that REFUSES to get a Plan B in place.

How long? How much more do we need to see? The stats of all the wins with RT for Gase are a mirage. A trick. Because in most of them RT wasn’t the reason why. He was merely not the reason why not.

The 2018 season still has 11 games. And I’d venture to say RT will have a few good ones. He may in fact lead us to a win or two. But his limitations remain. The team takes on the personality of both him and Gase. And it’s too often the personality of soggy toast.

As a lifelong Dolphins fan, it pains me to see the team like this. The single key position has not been upgraded since 2012. Think about that. Basically ignored since drafting him. It’s shocking and blatantly foolish.

At least they finally moved away from Moore as the backup this season. It was as much a lack of judgement on not moving away from him years ago to try and find a RT upgrade as it was to just rely on RT like he had shown Rogers like skill at some point in his career.
Is O'Weller a upgrade to Moore? Time will tell but it was obvious years ago he (Moore) could never be "The One". I think your backup should have that kind of potential.

I agree 100%

This let roll with RT era has been a complete FAIL....

But our draft history the last 12 year will make a lifelong fan
stop watching the sport...

Newsflash TJ WATT had 3 sacks today

Been saying that for years. Every year, posters here say we can't draft a QB because we have more pressing needs, as if there's a position more important than QB.
Gase wont draft a QB , but has 4 QB on the roster .

This all falls on the ownership. It starts from the top. Ross has surrounded himself with losers and losers the dolphins have become. Sure we had a few good years sprinkled in here and there but that doesn't make up for all the losing seasons we had to endure.
This culture has to change and it has to change from the top down. Until that happens we will be stuck in this realm of mediocrity. I used to find myself excited to watch this team play but recently I have started to lose interest and patience. I'm not giving up on them in any way. I'll always be a fan it's just my expectations haven't been met. It's kinda like they put icing on **** so it looks good to the eye and smells good but once you get past the icing it's still just ****. Lol

The FO have been shortsighted in thinking every position needed upgrades except the QB position, the most important on the team. The skill position players are in place for any good qb to score points using them. Yes the oline is in shambles but teams deal with injuries every year and many times overcome them with good to great qb play. I know Gase hasn’t been an effective playcaller in his tenure here but I guarantee if he had a better qb his playcalling would miraculously improve. Over the past 7 years players and coaches have come and gone except for Tanny - it’s pretty clear who the real problem is.

Yeah, I had stopped watching for about 10 years after Marino retired. I’m about to stop again.

I don’t think that Carr is a future great but I would rather have him than Tannehill.
True but who knows maybe Tannehill would have gotten better if he had legitimate competition behind him. Or Carr would have earned the starting position

There are posters here -- and one in particular -- who argues that we aren't allowed to draft Tannehill's successor until Tannehill has been in the league the same number of years as Alex Smith when Kansas City drafted Patrick Mahomes.

As I pointed out, Tannehill was 3 years older than Smith -- 24 to 21 -- when playing his rookie season, so if we wait until the same stage, 12 years after Tannehill being drafted, that means it is the year 2024 and Tannehill is 36.

Great plan

Yet that poster is the one who constantly argues in arrogant fashion that others are being unreasonable in regard to Tannehill.

I'm not a Tannehill fan but we need to allow him to play to his strengths. Drop back and throw decisive darts over the middle. If we insist on routes short of the marker, Tannehill will default there and we'll go nowhere. If we allow plays to linger and Tannehill wanders around, his poor awareness shows up and we end up with plays like today.

I wouldn't care if Tannehill threw more interceptions as long as we were aggressively attacking downfield. Tannehill has fine accuracy on throws over the middle in that 10-20 yard range. But for whatever reason we seem to play scared and try to protect him.

For example, why are we afraid to even attempt a Hail Mary on that final play? Every team in the league runs a Hail Mary in that situation. Yet we hand off to Kenyan Drake for 20 vital yards. Granted I was biased because I had Dolphins +6.5 points and needed a touchdown. But I wasn't rooting for anything abnormal. When we handed off in wimp fashion it was like Tannehill (or Gase) was so scared of Tannehill's stats in the game they weren't willing to risk another interception.

We don't mind the shovel passes that count for 80 yard touchdown passes but heaven forbid a third interception.

Tannehill comes up small in the most important games:

Division games more often than not

Road games

games vs top teams

high pressure games

Hell he struggles to get past subpar teams.

If he hasn't figured it out after 7 years, he never will
