After going through the worst set of head coaches since Shula we may now have THE COACH OF THE YEAR.

My question is have any 1st year coaches ever won
coach of the year???

Well, at least he should be in the conversation with Coughlin, Fisher and Smith. I'd put him above Zorn and Harbaugh, both coming in with more to work with and Zorn especailly lately underperforming considering his resources. You know Belicheat without Brady, Harrison, Maroney will be getting some consideration too.

So I'd vote for Tony without doubt; in any impartial scenario he definitely should get top 5 or better consideration IMO

If Phins go 11-5 and win AFC East then I just don't see how anyone else could win besides Sporano. From 1-15 to playoffs much less winning division is INSANE.

Zorn, coach of the year. LMAO.

Coach of the year candidates are Jeff Fisher, Tom Coughlin, Mike Smith, Tony Sparano and John Harbaugh.

I think it's likely Fisher gets it, especially if the Titans end up 15-1 or something. But i'd be fine with any of those guys getting it, especially Mike Smith or Tony Sparano who have done FANTASTIC jobs.

Lets face the facts that Sparano is getting every I-ota of ability out of this team and the huge turn around plus all the player personal decisions such as signing Bess and Carpenter dealing with major injuries and above all he has this team beleiving that THEY CAN WIN EACH AND EVERY WEEK.

All those coaches have the upper hand from name recognition but I know we have the coach THAT WILL lead us to the promised land...maybe not this year and maybe not next but there will be a time when other teams will HATE to play this team!!!

this season will go down in NFL history as one of the best turnarounds ever. So yes... he should and will be in the Coach of the Year conversation.

Sorry, Fisher's doing what he's been doing since becoming their coach. Sporano should be the coach of the year as long as we finish above .500.

I think Wanny won the coach of the year in 2002 but hell I bumped my head earlier so what can I say.

Sparano should definately be coach of the year. this team has beaten several good teams this year. Patriots, Broncos, Texans, Buffalo. all solid teams. all beaten. before now, nobody, even a lot of fans thought we could beat the patriots, chargers, and almost beat the jets. but sparano is making that a reality and we are looking like a very solid team.

Yeah, that win over the Texans sure felt good. Oh wait... :D

maybe we should just start hiring all the Italians in the league... they seem to know what they are doing.

didnt sean payton win it his 1st year? no?

either way i think they are ranked fisher, tony, mike smith and Harbaugh
