All these players above are either former or potential pro bowlers. None of them are aged, making all of them still near their prime if not approaching their prime. And all of them can be on the field at the same time (when Ricky comes back). This offense has potential to be dangerous. (Sure, we lack a solid OL, but with these skill players we can be dangerous. Now whether the offense becomes consistent, that'll be determined by the improvement of the OL)

At the same time, our defense is much more physical, much better against the run, and with a connsistent pass rush, which is easily possible with our talented D-line (Taylor, Holliday, Carter) our pass D will be even better. Those of us saying we're rebuilding and stuff, maybe we are somewhat, but it would be rash for anyone to count us out this year. (I admit, before the season opener I was doubtful, but now that doubt is confidence after seeing the potential that has been shown these last 2 games).

I agree! I think if we can have a record of 2-2 when Ricky comes back, I think that there is a chance that we could make the playoffs as a wild card. I don’t think the Bills are better than us, and I think that the Pats are on the decline. I believe that it is possible that we could sweep both the Bills and the Pats this year. I may be over optimistic but I think that if our o-line improves and our running game gets on track, I think we can win 9-10 games this year.

No they can't, the most you could have on the field at once is 5 of the 6. You can only have 11 guys on the field and when you include a QB and the offensive line (5 guys), you will have to many players.

The point you were trying to make is that we have alot of talent to work with and that is correct. Linehan should be excited about the mismatches he can create with the weapons that you have listed.

Yes, we have all that potential, that is what is so frustrating. You bring up a lot of good points. But if we dont find a way to establish a running game soon, the passing game will fall off as well no matter who is running routes. On top of that we dont really know what Ricky will do upon return, Brown is struggling and the pressure will only get stronger on him, Boston has done nothing as a Dolphin thus far, Chambers is failing to be consistent or catch wide open passes, and Booker is a solid #2 nothing more. Randy is the only one playing consistently but we know he is prone to drops at bad times as well.

As for our defense, we have a weak secondary and an old d-line that is good but a short-term solution. We can compete, but we're certainly not meeting the potential those names you listed can reach. And I know its frustrating to see all those names at wideout and RB and not understand why were not lighting up the scoreboard like the second coming of the 99' Rams.

On top of this there's the Gus factor, can a 34-yr old journeyman be competitive down the line?

I think our O will get better and more consistent as the season goes on, but will it progress fast enough in our tough division and tough schedule in the way? If we can beat the Panthers this weekend, I think we have a playoff shot. If we can be competitive, I think we come up just short of a wild card spot. If we put up 7pts and allow 24, we're at best a 6-6 or 7-9 team. This game IMO will tell us a lot about this season. The form Ricky will return in will tell us the rest about our chances this year.
