We have the worst beat writers

I do completely agree. James Walker gives little to no effort and that dude probably rolls in a lot of dough.

James Walker just tweeted a photo of the "Full-scale" model of the renovated stadium.

How does he not know that full-scale = full-sized?

What cracks me up about walker is he truly has no interest in doing a good job. He's on complete cruise control.

A story will break, or a topic will be big among dolphins fans, and this dude walker will write a 3 paragraph story about it 4-5 days later and than disappear for a week. Since basically no beat writers really have sources getting stories out quick is pretty important for them. But not Walker, Walker don't give a ****.

Guy has the easiest job in the world, more power to the guy, but ESPN Should of fired him a long time ago.

Wonder how it is in other towns with teams that haven't been relevant. Can't just be a Dolphins thing.

We also have the best, Barry Jackson.

I think he used to cover the Browns, then ESPN moved him to the Dolphins lol.

It's not. The Falcons have a reporter from the Atlanta Journal Constitution (D. Orlando Ledbetter) who can barely write a paragraph without a typo, unattributed tidbit, or complete factual inaccuracy. And he typically only writes one or two paragraphs in his stories; I imagine he takes his notes in crayon. His attitude toward his assignment is on par with the worst of Miami's reporters but I find every Dolphins beat writer to be much better technical writers.

A lot of Falcons fans hate his guts. Even though YKW, Perkins, and others seem to hate their jobs, they at least are competent.

My problem with the Fins' writers is I don't need attitude written into articles. If you feel the need to be critical, put it into a commentary and I'll ignore it but don't pepper disrespectful BS in with accounts about something that happened with the team. It seems like almost all of them are in a contest to let us know how much they take the team's lack of success to be an affront to their dignity. And Walker just approaches it like reporting is something that pays the bills, so why be the best?

Couldn't agree more.

Then why read their work?

Part of being a football fan is raging against the media for not showing enough respect or love to your favorite team.

We all love doing it.

Up here in the New York area there are some of the best and worst of journalists. Possibly taking the "worst" trophy is Frank Isola of the New York Daily News. Like Omar, he is a sociopath whose every comment is intentionally inflammatory to get his name out there and like Jason La Confora he spreads rumors with no information. Of course now ESPN regularly uses him as an on air guy.

Moral of the story? ESPN is a pile of ****. The fact that network is currently failing for parent company Disney is a long time in the making.

because our beat writers give us something to read about. All of them, I get something out of all of them, good, bad and indifferent. I read them all.
