Elton Brown! Elton Brown! Elton Brown! There were 3 postions where the 2004 Dolphins were just go d awfull last year. Obvioulsy we hope we found the answer for one of them with Ronnie Brown. No real answer at QB presented it self to make us better in 2005, but we did grab a grab a vetrean who knows our OC offense. If Feely continues to score more points for the other team Ferrotte could step in, and be an adequate starter who won't lose games. The 3rd, and I think anyone who knows football would say the most important is the offensive line. I love adding McDugal, and our new o-line coach. That being said we still need alot of help. Looking at the roster we should have a good competion for the RT spot between Carey, St. Claire, and Mcantosh, but our guard situation is not good. Jeno James is a sure starter, but I don't see a 2nd guard on our roster worthy of starting. I could be wrong because I think the most important part of the o-line is attitude. Our coaching staff last year didn't have a feirce attitude, and neither did our o-line, so with a new staff we could see much improvement just from attitude alone.

I would rather be safe than sorry though. Elton Brown is still available, and is a beast. 6'4'' 337lbs, and a 3 year starter at UV. I think he was the 2nd best available after Bass, but questions about his charicter have contributed to him still being on the board. If it isn't Brown only 4 players at G have been taken. A starter is still out there, and we need some new blood at the postion. Then hopefully McPhearson is still there in the 5th.

Oline talent is supposed to be much deeper next year. As saban's trying to rebuild this team to an extent.....i'd take a different need this year.

Alot of this year Elton was a first round talent. He dropped after the season due to teams digging in to his past, and personality flaws. I don't see another player out there right now with his kind of talent. I think Brown presents a chance to take a first round talent in the 4th. I don't see that available anywhere else.

McPherson (background...) or Hawthorne (...dummy smoking weed before the combine). that's two possibles.....some would say Shazor as well. Any way you look at it, those 4 (including Brown) would be considered a good value pick in the 4th round. I just personally think if we can get a steal at another position this year when next year's class is more loaded on Offense and Brown isn't necessarily going to be better then anyone we currently have (i.e...it's not like going from Minor/Morris to Ronnie Brown)......then we should take a different position and wait for a true upgrade later on.

If we take a guard in the 4th, which I doubt, I do not want Elton Brown. Why would you want a guy who walked out at the Senior Bowl after the weigh-in with no explanation? After that, he didn't think it was important enough to work out at the combine. Just how much does it all mean to him? Actions and/or inactions like this show that he was not interested in showing scouts how he stacked up against other top platers in the country.
If we take a 4th round pure guard, there is only one name I want to hear, Chris Kemoeatu, Utah. Big, strong, VERY tough & intense, high motor mauler who is the best pure in-line run blocker in this draft. A mean nasty player with some Conrad Dobler to his demeanor and similar as a player to Chris Naoele.

I say we pull a wanny and package all of our remaining picks to the browns and move up one spot and draft C. Fason as a backup HB. That way things would fell like every other season and it would take away that feeling of hope I have in this new regime....

i know lets throw away our draft choices i say we get:
DT,
DE,
P

How would drafting a DT be wasting a pick when all of our DT's are question marks?

Timbo - his career is prolly over!
Chester - his knee is a big concern!
Zgonina - hes 35!

U cant win in the NFL if you cant stop the run!

To name a few players that are available that should be considered:

Brandon Browner - CB
Ernest Shazor - S
Adrian McPherson - QB
Ben Wilkerson - C
Elton Brown - OG
Anttaj Hawthrone - DT
Michael Boley - OLB
Fred Gibson - WR

I would like to see us find a way to draft McPherson, Wilkerson, and Shazor. We obivously don't have enough picks to get these players before thay come off the board, but I do feel we could get atleast two of them with our 4th and 5th round picks. It would be nice if we could package our 5th rounder and Zogina for a mid to late 4th rounder. I also wouldn't mind seeing us trade down in 4th round for extra picks, as we need players.

For starters, our oline is not that bad. Last year they were horrible, I would agree, but it was a new oline. Now that they have worked together for atleast one year and a better oline coach in Houck, I forsee better play. Our main problem is going to be center. The tackle position is solved with McIntoah at LT and McDougle at RT. The guard position is almost set with James at LG and Carey or Hadnot at RG. That leaves the center and McKinney showed a lack of leadership that the position needs. The talk of using Smith there scares me even more. I like the idea of drafting Wilkerson from LSU who knows Sabans system. If it wasn't for his injury this past season, he would have been rated as the top center in the draft.

Team needs in order: S, OLB, DT, C, QB, CB

With that said, I forsee us going defense with the 3rd pick in the 4th round. Anyone have any ideas which player that would be? I like Shazor(S) or Boley(OLB) with that pick or trade down later in the fourth.

elton or jason brown would make me happy. i'm starting to lean more towards jason brown because i feel center is a more pressing need with hadnot, james and carey all in the mix at guard and im getting a little scared off by all of elton's character issues
