I'm in the camp of let people have their say.....sometimes you will get the childish responses but for the most part, let people disagree and then back up with why they think that way.....I don't like yes men, I like hearing from people who I don't agree with if they can explain why they feel a certain way......that's what this board is for, what fun would it be if we all agreed on every move made....sitting around holding hands singing Kumbaya......no give me some conflict....freaking out over a signing not made yet? what the hell go for it we are finally talking about something other than bullygate......

So why don't you tell give me your list of tackles. Where does Albert land in your top 10? I'd love to know from a football genius like yourself who you think he's better than. If you're going to pretend to be an Internet tough guy at least do it out in the open.

And by the way, if you truthfully have watched Albert play and came back thinking that he's one of the 10 best in the league then you're the one that may want to learn football.

Reality=no starting LT,LG,RT on the roster. Options are limited and snagging one of the best options available at LT will help immensely in filling these holes. As long as it isn't a stupid money long contract I will be happy with Albert.

I know I shouldn't be but I am simply baffled by the hate already with the rumors of the Fins agreeing with Albert on a deal. First off who knows if the "sources" are true. Hickey can't win with some of you all, he is going after a top 10 OT that will be 30 but I imagine they like his leadership (which is what we need) & people on here are so upset. It's NOT madden football you can't just get who you want, maybe he reached out to Monroe & he doesn't want to come here who knows but give the guy a break his mission is to IMPROVE this team and Albert will improve this team if the reports are true & we sign him that's Great.

Lets see how things play out come Tuesday. REMEMBER we probably won't sign every player that comes to visit or we talk to & that's ok. I for one am excited to see what is going to take place.

I really fail to see the issue with some of us, who have watched these guys being disappointed because we feel there's better options on the market. Anyone would be an improvement over what we had, the fact is to some of us Albert wasn't the best player on the market, therefore not worth the biggest contract. Me personally for what Veldheer is getting he would've been my first choice, regardless of the cost. I think he's going to be a better player and his athleticism really meshes with our scheme. It doesn't have to be "madden", if the rumoured contracts are true then I think we took a less talented guy for more money. I don't have to be happy about it just because he's an upgrade on McKinnie. I'll reserve judgement until I see the figures and everything is official, but I don't have to be happy with what I evaluate as an overpay for my third choice on the market. The players will follow the money, Monroe or Veldheer would've come here if they were offered more money, and it still would've made less than Albert.

Listen I hate the sky is falling as much as the next guy, this board's unbearable in the regular season. Personally I'm opinionated about it like others because I think we could've done better based on the present information.

No no, im all on board now: not everyone can get the top free agents, so we should settle for mediocrity. Sorry, i didnt mean just "settle", i mean praise. Celebrate. We paid a bunch of money for the 3rd or 4th best option, raise the roof!!! We're giving a player with a bad back $10 million a year, we rock! Offer a lesser contract to a younger and equally talented player? **** that noise, they can give us a call after they've injured their spine and are 30, we'll be more then willing to pay them then.

Why should we go out and make the best deals possible when we can awesomely sign inferior players! This will be the best .500 season evah!

we all know the philbin philosophy, build through the draft. unfortunately, that slams head first into the proposition that you don't want a rookie left tackle protecting your franchise QB (who got the living crap beat out of him the previous year to the tune of 58 sacks). so you have a GM that needs to go out and try to find a bridge from now until a drafted tackle is ready to step into the position. is he looking for a one year starter in that case? two years? who is out there that can adequately be that bridge and is willing to be that bridge? look at who we eventually sign. look at the length of the deal, and look at the money. there will be your answers re: why we signed whoever we sign.

Actually I based it on how he's played. Why are you so offended that I informed you that he's not a top 10 LT? Is it because you know there's truth in that statement? Why didn't you fill me in on who he's better than and where he ranks since I don't " know football"? And show me where I said I know what he's going to get paid. I'll do you a favor and save you the time. You won't find anything because I never did. I did however state that if its a contract that is cap friendly and something they can get out of in 2 years if his back acts up I'm fine with it. I've actually watched the guy play. Watched some of his film. My opinion is based on what I saw and what I saw is no where's near that of a top 10 LT. You can drink the kool aid if you want but you're fooling yourself.
