The Dolphins will not say what their draft needs are. Tony Sparano and Jeff Ireland won't say they have holes at OLB and CB and WR that demand 2009 draft attention.

“We have needs at a lot of different positions," Ireland said cryptically. "To give you what those exact needs are goes into strategy which we are not going to talk about. Our greatest needs are players that fit our system. Our greatest needs are players that think the way we think; that want to be here and have high passion and high character. Those are the greatest needs that we have on the team.”

I find it interesting the Dolphins won't give you even a hint of what they think their needs are although everyone knows they need a starting CB because Will Allen cannot start at both LCB and RCB. They need a starting OLB that can improve the overall pass rush because Joey Porter cannot do it by himself. And they need a wide receiver that actually scares the defense because no one on Miami's receiver corps does that.

OK... so as the article simply states, we have 3 need areas, thats alot of room to manuever in terms of simply giving away what we are going to do int he draft.. for example its much harder to predict what Miami would do as compared to a team like the Giants, or Carolina, or even a team like Tampa Bay (under Gruden) who was always looking for a QB...

The article makes it sound like they have Miami's needs figured out, yes they do, but those needs are three needs that could go in an three direction and totally screw up other teams draft boards.

Funny thing is I didnt even need to click on the link to know this was an Armondo article... I wish I didnt click on it after I posted because now he gets the hit even though after I saw his idiotic face I closed the window... What a waste on my part :boohoo: So sorry everyone!

Oh boo hoo hoo. The Dolphins won't tell Armando what their priorities are.

If this was entirely true, then why did some of the teams either rotated their coverages towards Ted Ginn or just flat out doubled him, especially after Camarillo went down with his ACL injury?

I'm not a Mando fan, I just thanked Bama for his efforts to get a discussion going.

Don't remember the last time I saw the local writers milk this many non-stories from one press conference that didn't say much in the first place. NFL talent evaluators know what the other team's needs are. What they don't know is the priority they have in addressing those needs. So in that part at least, the writer was correct.

“We have needs at a lot of different positions," Ireland said cryptically.
What exactly was cryptic about that? It's true.

I find it interesting the Dolphins won't give you even a hint of what they think their needs are
I don't find it "interesting", I find it "professional" with the draft two weeks away. Go back to sleep.

And it showed in his game stats. You act just because hes doubled means hes a good receiver. But, if he doesnt beat the double coverage then hows that make him a good receiver?

You're so right! It's so easy to beat double coverage. All the good receivers do it! Even though you're arguments are pretty retarded I'll just waste my time anyways...do you not remember those times Ted made amazing catches in the seahawks an jets game being double covered? Pardon me I didn't realize you made judgments on players just reading the stat boxes on nfl.com. Maybe you should buy a TV the games are much better that way!

One catch against Seattle. Thats the only double coverage i remember him beating. The jets game was single coverage. It would be in your great interest to take a look at that, because your wrong again. I've forgotten more about football then you'll ever know buddy. Tons of receivers beat out double coverage in the NFL. You think Ted Ginn is the only receiver to get double coverage, well your sadly mistaken.

C'mon guys, even though it's getting heated here, let's not let it get too heated. Just keep it civil and about the posts, not the poster.

Hopefully when the Miami Herald completes its bankruptcy, this guy wont be allowed to write anymore. Joe Forumposter has better insight than this spaghetti head.

I can tell "you've forgotten more about football than I'll ever know" because he was double covered when he came back to catch that long pass from Pennington in the Jets game. And never did I say Ted Ginn is the only wide receiver to get double covered. Where do you come up with this stuff?

Find the Dolphins vs. Jets highlights on nfl.com and go to 3:40. I counted two defenders.

Is not always about beating the double coverage.....when they put 2 on Ginn it opens up chances for Bess on the other side.

Ozzy rules!!

If Ginn was not a good receiver, I seriously doubt teams would bother double covering or even rotating their coverage towards him.

For a receiver to beat double coverage, it is not always about him being open. It is sometimes about the QB trusting the receiver enough to throw the ball towards him and knowing, that more times than not, he will come down with the ball.

If you watch the games, you will see that many times due to his pre-snap reads, Pennington will not even look in Ginn's direction because of the coverage he is reading.
