With all the talk about how SD's secondary is week, if Gus can't get a rhythm and make plays, I really believe Sage will get a chance, and I think it will be early in the game. In his last press conference, Saban said it's not an issue yet. I really belive Gus's tenure here as a starter is wrapped up in this game.

i think we may see sage start this week as strange as it sounds, maybe saban has been pulling the wool over everybodies eyes so the chargers would plan for gus, and then screw them over with a game time decision to start sage, by the way this is just something i think would be comical not something i think would really happen

Gus will play his best game ever. I think it was before the Patriots game that people were calling for his head. He'll be motivated to throw his best and he'll take a cue from Sage and try to lock up with Chambers a lot.

I doubt that. I just think the position isn't very grounded right now. Gus needs to have a solid rest of this season, but that is very unlikely.

Gus is the starting qb, although he is on a very short leash.

yeah i know it's unlikely but it'd really be funny if saban did it, i wonder if the league could fine him for misinformation or something of the sort

its really just gus's accuracy and the offenses confidense in him, i really wouldnt of gone with him, their more confident in sage now....

No way do I see Saban telling Gus and the Team that Gus is the starter and then at the last second starting Sage. He would lose too much credibility with the team.

I think it'll be Gus until we have no chance at a playoff run, NE beats the bills, it's over, then Sage may play the rest of the season..

if the pats lose, saban will know this, and this game is a must win. gus will be on the shortest leash ever.

I think that he is already on a short leash.

The only way Sage sees playing time is if Gus gets hurt.

It is clear that Saban doesn't see Sage in the future of the Phins. He plans on getting a new QB in here.

So in Saban's mind there is no reason to start the guy to see if he has a future when you yourself don't see him having a future on the team.

There is only 1 reason to start him and it's clear Saban doesn't care about that aspect.

I hope Saban proves me wrong but nothing Saban has done has shown me he has given anyone other then Frerotte a fair shot at QB.

This isn't knocking Saban. I am just saying he already planned on getting a new QB to start with.

I think he is going to start Gus. Then when Gus gets sacked in the endzone and gets a concussion, he will bring in Sage to save the day
