If we stay at nine, we must get the best player available. This team has done nothing but hurt themselves by not going that route.

Looking at all the scenarios, I would have to say Laron Landry has to be the guy. Everyone has to stop fooling themselves with Brady Quinn. He might be the guy, but the risk of trading a lot to get a QB with no guarentees. The problem with QB, there is no third QB. Last year, they were three big guns. We can't wait for one to slip to us like Arizona. This team has not hit on a super star via the draft since Jimmy's days. The best player and most ready to be a hit of a pick, and no pun intended is Laron Landry. With moving Allen to safety, it gives him an opening day starting spot, and we all know this guy has everything to be the next big time Ed Reed. All I am saying is no more getting a player for need, no more gambles. Yes the draft is a gamble, but try to make the safest pick as possible. I would like to see a player come in, and be a star. We are longing for that. I also feel that Kolb and Palmer could be just as good of players as Quinn, for a lot less money, and a lot less of a total investment. We need to do what's best for the franchise, and I hope this year we get it right. I am not the GM, this is an opinion.

We Must Get the BPA at #9

Ya think?

He means not mixing the needs with the talents, the best talent at #9 even if it isn't a big need, thats exactly the key, taking the BPA even if we are solid at that position, thats what the Pats have been doing over years and we better start doing it...

Of course BPA is the way to go. Some people here have said theyd be made if we went D at #9, I won't be upset as long as we go BPA.

We need that other BallHawk in the secondary.I want Landry.I want Landry. But he will most likely be gone at #9.
I hope somehow he is there. We would be really good to have a guy step in like that.

#9.Landry
#40.Staley
#60.Stanton
#71.Woodley
#108.McCauley
#181.?
#199.?
#219.?
#238.?

Maybe wont fly but would be nice to have them.

I don't think there is any chance that Landry will be there at 9. If Quinn is there he is by far the best player available. Everyone says taking him is too much of a risk but a QB needs to be drafted sometime. No 1st day QB since Marino is absolutely ridiculous.

I'd rather trade down and take Michael Griffin. The consensus best ST's prospect in the draft. 124 and 126 tackles the last two years and more interceptions than Landry. A very hard hitter with 4.4 speed.

We could trade down twice and still possibly get Griffin late in the 1st round and at the same time picking up a couple 2nd round picks and maybe a fifth to draft a punter.
