I believe we need 7 impact players next year, and with $20 million or more cap space dollars to play with, we should be able to find them.

Free Agency

1. QB - I think a veteran, such as Jon Kitna or Patrick Ramsey, may be the 2-year stop gap we need to develop a young QB, which I hope we pick up in the mid or late rounds of next year's draft.

2. WR - We need a #1 WR....Chris Chambers is not the leader for our receiving corp and we will not be competitive unless we have a consistent gamer. Again, I would like to see us sign a veteran because the upcoming draft appears to be weak in WR's.

3. CB - A veteran, such as Nate Clements, I believe is needed to solidify the secondary. I personally don't want Sam or Reggie back next year. I think Clements, along with Will Poole, Travis Daniels, and Shirdonya Mitchell will make for an interesting secondary.

The Draft

4. DE - I don't think David Bowens or Matt Roth is the answer at DE. Bowens may not even be here next year and Roth may play more LB in the 3-4. With guys like Mario Williams (my favorite) or Matthew K from BC in the draft, we can't pass on a pass rusher. Besides, Jason is now dirty thirty and we have to face facts that he won't be with us much longer.

5. LB - Junior is gone and Zach is getting long in the tooth, which really leaves Crowder as our only solid prospect at LB. This year's draft features a lot of good LB's and I think we have to grab one, especially as we convert to more of a 3-4 defense.

6. LT - Offensive line is no longer the priority it once was, but there are many L good LT's coming out in this year's draft, so it makes sense to grab one. Even though McIntosh has improved greatly, he is over 30 and will never be great. You don't often get a chance to get a stud LT and this may be our last chance to find one in the draft.

*DT - The one exception to take a DT is Ngota if he is available. He is a freak and may simply be too good to pass up. If we don't draft a DT, I am not particularly worried because I think the young guys, Vickerson and Wright will step up and I think Carter and Holliday, maybe even Traylor have at least another year or two left.

I believe other positions of need such as Center and Safety can easily be filled with low draft picks or inexpensive free agents.

I think we need two more cornerbacks, depending on what happens with Sam.

As far as DE you need to give Roth more time to grow. Possibly pick up a Free agent to add more competition.

DT the kids will come along, so I am not worried there.

The one position that you left out that we really need is a hard hitting safety that will put fear in opposing wide receivers coming accross the middle.

My bad I saw that at the end of your post. I think that will be a bigger hole to fill then the later rounds of the draft.

First of all, I would not give up on Roth yet. The last DE to come out and have a great impact as a rookie was probably Peppers. It usually takes a couple of years for a DE to develop. Heck even JT was not a stud in his rookie year.

I also think we should get 2 solid corners to feel comfortable. However, I REALLY doubt Clements will be available.

Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB,Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB,Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB,Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB,Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB, Must draft a QB...and a hard hitting Safety.

thank you! we neeed some angry un normal mo fo at SS to hit the **** out of someeone and we need a QB!@#!@#!@#!@# ppl still dont look at that in their MOCK drafts! its pathetic. some ppl are morons! we need a Hard hitting safety and 2 CB's.

McIntosh is 28 years of age, i don´t know if mitchell who never has played a down in the nfl is enough, even poole who hasn´t played in a long time is no safety blanket right now, we need another CB and more important like Fin Fan in Cali mentioned we need a playmaker at the S position

have you seen matt roth run in open space? apparently not, because matt roth WILL NOT play lb. come on bro.

I think we should actually draft a QB in the next few drafts.... They don't nefd to be high draft picks... But its always good to develop and perhaps find a diamond in the rough like a Brady

I agree with your free agency route. Except, Patrick Ramsey is not a free agent and would only be obtained via trade. I have my fingers crossed that D.Carr will be let go...then again I would go after S.McNair before J.Kitna, Kitna is my third option. As far as WR...go after T.O. Then, I think C.Woodson is most likely the #1 candidate for CB as Oakland's Salary Cap situation all but "ensures" he won't be re-signed, not sure if Bills let's go of Clement. Don't forget we still need to re-sign L.Shulters and a few of our backups like S.Morris, B.Gilmore, and Y.Bell. We may need to re-sign S.Mckinney as the other Centers out there will be a little on the expensive side. And yes, I think that a hard hitting SS will not come cheap either, unless we find one in the 2nd-3rd rounds of the draft.

As far as the draft...we may need to trade R.Williams, M.Booker, and/or S.Madison to try to aquire more 1st day picks to cover some of our needs. I would only use the 1st round pick on NT H.Ngata or LT E.Winston depending if H.Ngata is gone or not. If we draft a DE, like you said...look for J.Taylor to be traded for a 1st round pick, which I would do in a NY minute by the way, if we can draft his replacement with one of our 1st round picks. Hey, you know what? You could be on to something... with about 2 or 3 monster DE's in the draft this year we may be able to do this. That way we can aquire our DE "and" LT of the future! Let's go.

I think if we are going to improve our secondary lets get two more CB's, and a knock you on your butt safety this year, so they can grow together.:)

i think we need to trade Booker, RW, and Madison to acquire picks. id love to trade booker n RW for an early 2nd or booker n madison actualy then RW to complete a trade. we need one more 1st n 1 more 2nd i believe this year. if not the 1st as its very damn hard to obtain that, an extra 2nd n 3rd would be great.

not another two years of so so qb play. i can't take it any more.

put the rookie in if he is drafted in first round.

I'm all for getting Nate Clements and keeping Madison in for backup. Madison is a good #2 CB who you can trust on their #2 WR.
