Whoever is the GM and in charge of personnel is going to have much more of a long term effect on this team than who our next coach is!

We give personnel power to another coach and we will find ourselves missing draft picks and looking for a new one a few years later!

We NEED someone committed to the LONG TERM success of this franchise. That means stockpiling draft picks and studying the draft harder than ever before. Not trading away picks to hopefully win 2 more games next year!

As long as we get the personnel our coach will look like a genius regardless of whether he is one or not!

Here's to Reese, Mueller, or Pioli receiving main power over this team. Anything else, Wayne and Wiedermyer are setting this franchise up for another 5 years of failure and there will be nobody else to blame.

Well we need a coach AND a GM which is pretty much what your saying i guess so i agree :p

GM/Coach combos traditionally do not do that well, and Saban apparently was just horrible at it.

the thing is coaches are hired in January, GM's are hired after the draft

so relax

Whats that look up in the luxury box the GM is throwing the red flag I think he wants to challenge the last play.

We dont need a new owner mate. Ours may not be perfect but hes alot better than most. Hes a little slow to cut ties with some people (Wanny) and puts a bit to much faith/trust/power in others (Saban) but i think he may have learned.

At least Wayne is willing to pay money to bring in coaches and players. We could easily have a penny pincher owner like the Bidwells in Arizona, now that would suck. Or we could have the Fords in Detroit who are somehow being held hostage by that dimwit Millen.

We just need to make sure we dump all our eggs in one basket this time.

It needs a new OWNER...Thats step 1.

Then a new GM.

Yeah man I think we have a great owner. He really wants to have a good team and is willing to pay A LOT of money for it to happen. He might not know the most about football but he's willing to pay the money to bring in somebody does know it in order to turn this franchise around.

Nice post bro. We do need to get a GM first. Doesn't sound like Mueller will be around for too long.

Ya, but who will be in charge for this coming free agency and draft? The Dolphins need to have someone making personnel decisions since that was Saban's department before. I doubt the next coach will get that much power unless its a big name coach. We need to get a top notch GM in here as soon as possible. Part of the reason the Dolphins franchise is where its at right now is bad personnel decisions over the last 7 or 8 years. That needs to change.

Meuller will be kept on til May

its the way things are done

Meuller is privvy to all our proprietory info on FA and the draft, he will be let go when it is best for us

I don't know how to better explain it

NFL teams never switch heads of player personnel until after the draft

the timing couldn't be worse than January
