McInTosh is done. Amazing to me how Abraham (appx 50 lb's lighter) completely bull-rushed him and wreaked havoc.

McKinney is just not a top flite Center. He's got a big mouth but does not get consistent push out there.

How can we address this??

but its to late now. you will just have to get that "great :rolleyes: " O-Line coach to make them better.
 
I would bet anything that out 1st draft pick next year will be a LT. A center could be had in the 4th. With a CB and BPA inbetween.

would you actually start a 4th round draft pick at Center??? he would take ~2-3 years before hes ready for that. do you really want to wait that long? do you really want to have the same center you have now for 2-3 more years??

Problem is that our coaches themselves said that a great RB makes a great O-line. Not vice versa. :cry: That does not look to me as if they would spend a 2nd rounder (after a 1st on a QB) on any kind of lineman.

So far I think he has done a decent Job, considering last years abortion.
 
Good post. What's wrong with this offense is the o-line. You saw it in the Denver game; when the o-line had a good game, the offense moved.

McKinney is just a fat kid. On pass blocking, all I've ever seen him do is get pushed back into the quarterback. He has no drive blocking ability at all; not quick enough, not strong enough. He can't hold or finish his blocks. On top of that, he's too dumb to make the right line calls. This team will never be able to run effectively until he's replaced, because it all starts with the center: He has to be quick, strong, smart, persistent and bad. It doesn't matter who the coach is because it's not a problem of technique; you have to have the ability and the character. McKinney has none of the above, and you can't teach any of it.

No one on the line at present can start at left lackle in the NFL, period.

We need to go after some veteran free agents next offseason if any are available.
 
I like what I see from Carey so far. A few hiccups, but he can play. Guys from the U are usually pretty good last time I checked.

when Ricky comes back this will be some nice depth to have.
 
possibly move Rex to C and Stockar replacing Rex?? I at least like Rex's toughness and tenacity.

Agree re McKinney - he blows. Period.

McIntosh used to be very good. Now he looks done to me.
 
I'm surprised that Hadnot hasn't been moved to center. I suppose lack of quality at RG might be an issue.
 
how bad is Stockar that he's not starting? this seems like an obvious move. get McKinney out of there. this week vs Carolina c/b ugly...

'Word from South Florida is that while the Dolphins love the progress made by Vernon Carey as the starting right tackle, they won't hesitate to insert backup Stockar McDougle into the lineup if Carey struggles. In other words, Carey has not yet solidified his starting spot.'
