No secret Ronnie Brown is iffy with his second season ending injury for 2010.

RWilliams cant carry the load in 2010, he is one tweak from hitting the sideline. The way he carries and runs, he will be prone to overuse injuries i.e. current shoulder injury.

This team needs 2 starting caliber RB given this regimes philosophy of 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

I know we need ILB's, S, NT, WR, but dont think this team is set at RB.

It is a area of need for this team.

If I had my preference, we would adopt the spread offense, run a single back and 3 wide with and without a TE in the formation, and in the shotgun.

This is the future, not the I formation.

i DOn't agree that we need a running back for 2010 but i do agree thatt he spread formation is the future. That is why i would love to draft bryant and te jimmy graham and trade for boldin and you have your future for quite a few years

We do not need a RB. Ronnie breaking his foot was a freak accident and when he comes back next year and lights it up you'll be singing a different tune

Freak accident? what did he slip on a wet noodle, he was injured being tackled in a game.... Football Injury...... By your definition what is not a freak accident, being injured while your walking out of the tunnel?

What concerns me is that Ronnie will be 28 going on 29 next year, and history shows once a back hits 28, it's all downhill from there.

? Has Ronnie ever make it through an entire season injury free?
Is Ricky's tank finally empty?

We need to lighten the load on Ronnie and I feel that Ricky's load next year will be substantially lightened. Po stays, but we need a speedster who can strike like lightning and stretch the field horizontally to open the middle of the line so that someone like Ronnie can pound the lights out.

I would love to trade Ronnie and draft CJ Spiller. Ronnie will bring us a good high pick and Spiller would bring game breaking speed that Miami doesn't currently have. Brown, Williams, and Hilliard are all similar in styles and power. Spiller would bring game breaking talent the offense needs. Pair Spiller with Hilliard and Miami would have a great, young duo.

We need a RB? Duh.

Run the spread with 3 wide and shotgun and abondon the I? News flash: The Fins don't run the I. But thanks for helping us understand what the future of offensive football looks like.

If the O-line starts playing up to their potential we could stick with Ronnie next year, "splitting" carries with Ricky and Lex. Draft another late round RB this year and let him learn and work out. Then the following year, as the passing game takes over we'll be fine with the second tier RB's in Lex and the draftie. We need to spend the money elseware, RB's are a dime a dozen. Yes yes yes, Ronnie is special, but where has he taken us?

Ronnie is injury prone, I wish that tune would change but should we go into 2010 with an old lame-duck and a guy who can't stay healthy? hell no!

you need to be a Phins fan and put down the Ronnie pom-poms

Teams that spend 150 million + $$$
don't spend multi millions more for a running back

Your banking on the ability of the offensive line to open holes
no matter who the running back may be

I agree....However with the miserable defense we now possess
all the running & passing will go for nill........09 (336 PF) (360 PA)
LB's that can tackle and a secondary that can cover would be
a good start.........

Our line is good and young, put Ronnie, Ricky, Polite, Cobbs and Hilliard (what we started with this season) and they will do well. RB is one of the least positions of need. We can score points up the wazou but if our backers cant get pressure and our insides cnat cover TE or the flat all while having a WAY sub par saftey we wont win.

I agree that RB is a need for this team. I LOVE Ronnie and hope he is back, but he does get injured because of his power running style, Ricky has looked excellent, but he is on the wrong side of 30 and it takes more and more effort every year to keep in football shape, effort during the season has never been a problem for Ricky, but during the offseason is a different story.

I'd like to spend a middle pick in the draft or possibly pick up a decently priced FA. There are a few teams who have a glut at RB, New Orleans comes to mind with Mike Bell, Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush, they likely wont keep all 3, so it's logical they will part ways with one of them, Tennessee is another team with a lot of depth at RB. I'd like to see us go after Bell or LenDale White, let them be our power inside guys to soften up defenses, let Ronnie be our all-around guy, and let Ricky be the explosive guy who is going to blow by people and make people miss. Now, I love Patrick Cobbs, but he does a lot of things well and nothing fantastic, so I view him as more of a guy to build plays for rather than scheme around. I like Lex, but I question whether he can truly be a consistent threat. I'd love to bring in a 3rd guy to compliment Ricky and Ronnie, and really bring our running attack to a new level. We're already the best rushing attack in the league when healthy, but I say we put our foot on the pedal and get head and shoulders above everyone else on the ground. Nothing benefits a young QB better than an amazing running attack.
