this is big right now for our o-line because james was a good part of our o-line and if some fool *Cough*Jacox*cough* replaces him, it could change sundays game

i think Fonoti should start cause not only he started all the games he played, but because he was decent as a starter and great as a backup (well at least better than Jacox) im hoping Saban starts this guy

James was hurt very early in the KC game and Jacox replaced him seamlessly for the rest of the ballgame. I look for Jacox to start because he's been on the team all year. If he struggles maybe we'll see Fonoti. I'm kind of interested in how he'll play. He could be an upgrade. Who knows?

If fonoti is in shape i would say start him.

Yeah, we need to see what Fonoti's got in order to see if we don't need to sign another G to replace James next season.

Saban actually said he want's to get Fonoti in there as soon as possible. I was pretty surprised to hear that.

I'd have to agree with you there. Experience is very important to the fins right now . If jacox starts effing it up then put in the big guy.

i agree but at leats let the man get off the plane before he goes out and starts a football game!

Me too.

I think reading between the lines, they were extremely surprised by the shape that Fonoti was in when he came in for a tryout. Saban has mentioned it already a few times.

This is a guy that ate his way out of San Diego while Houck was there. Came into the league at like 365 pounds, and he left San Diego at well over 400 pounds.

He was 400+ with Minnesota when he was there, the Bucs signed him in the off season and he reported to camp 380 pounds. He went AWOL for a day unexcused, dropped weight to maybe about 365-370 pounds, and the Bucs cut him.

Houck most likely has never even seen the guy at 350 pounds, but he knows what the guy can do at this weight. Saban may be saying what he's saying because Houck has been saying yeah this guy can ball for us at this weight. It's one heck of a short term find.

Thing is if you invite him back to TC next year be prepared for him to show up overweight, unfocused, and possibly missing practices and meetings unexcused. That's just what he does.

CK dont you think maybe he knows he isnt getting many more chances and will come back in shape next year? Maybe not in great shape, but at least good enough shape to work it down before the season starts?

As much as I would love to see what Fonoti has got, can't see him starting already, hasn't been on the team long enough to know the plays.
