Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't get why many fans seem content with our wide receivers. Chambers is terrific but still seems a little gunshy about going over the middle after getting laid out by that safety from Denver a couple seasons ago. Booker is average and Welker can't reasonably be expected to handle being #3 WR and handling all the return work. Perhaps the signing of Campbell will let him thrive in the #3 slot but that doesn't mean we shouldn't upgrade Booker. Plus, what if Chambers gets hurt? Then we're screwed and we'll have made all these moves for a top notch QB and he'll have no one to throw it to. The draft won't be any help because rookie receivers need seasoning. Even Larry Fitzgerald didn't take off until year two and that was in a pass happy offense playing from behind. Now some of you might say what about McMichael? For sure, he's talented and he plays hard but he drops some easy ones. Plus until our O-line gets better he'll be kept in to keep people off Culpepper. So let's hear who you think is out there and could come in and contribute. Thanks in advance.

Booker isn't average. Chambers went over the middle plenty of times last year.

Santonio Holmes or Chad Jackson with the 16th pick...problem solved.

We have two great runningbacks as it is and both can catch, but yeah I agree we may need a third reciever that is a better option then Welker or Campbell. I would love to see us draft one though. As it is there are not really any good options in the free agency and we would be set at wide reciever for years to come with drafting one. Booker is a very good number 2 reciever in my opinion.

Agreed. For what it's worth, I believe Welker and Campbell are average. If you have 2 average recievers as your 3rd and 4th with Culpepper at quarterback and 2 superb running backs, how can you complain with that?

Pep has plenty of weapons. Chambers had a breakout year and he should improve even more with a guy like Pep being the QB. Booker isn't what he was with the Bears, but he is a very good #2 guy and he can make some big plays. How can somebody not like Welker? He may be small, but he is quick in his route running and he always open long enough to catch the ball and get some yards after the catch. And you can't forget about Campbell because he is a nice deep threat guy and should make some plays in the deep attack with Pep like he did in Minny.

:yeahthat: ...Booker is an extremely solid #2 WR, Chambers is a bonafide #1, combine them with a very talented TE in McMichael and a backfield of Williams/Brown/Beasley, I think they're are plenty of weapons there...I wouldn't however mind adding a little more depth at WR to compete with Welker & Campbell...

Man what a mistake that would be. We have so many other needs that are way more important. WR is behind secondary, linebacker, defensive tackle, and offensive line are way more important.

Saban doesn't address needs in the first round. As for needs, think about what happens if Chambers is injured and then talk about needs.

our WR are average overall or a little above average but the real problem is our O line.last year they were terrible except in the last few games of the season when miami went on a run,the O line really stepped up in the end and i hope they carry it on to the next season.also even if pepper does returns i doubt he will be able to run like he use to, it may take him a year for him to ran like before,so if he cant run then the O line really has to step up

Also with the new cap at over 100 million Booker is probably no longer overpaid as a number 2 wr. I do have to say I wish we had a little more depth at the wr position for injury sake. Last year when Booker went down it became pretty clear how little quality depth we had at the potion. Wes was a solit 3 but no way no how can he move up to play the 2 if Booker or Chambers goes down. It will be intresting to see how Campell does and where he sorts out on the depth chart.

Edit-Overall though I think we have a pretty good set of weapons with Booker and Chambers at the wr spots, Randy as the receiving TE and Ronnie at the TB position (hopfully along with the other R) The only thing that would wory me is if we lost Chambers to injury.
