I am not a "Henne homer", I am not a "Pennington Hater". But here is a hypothetical question for everyone:

Say Penne can't get anything done and we continue to play poorly. Henne comes in and he is WORSE. Henne proves to all of us that he is incapable of being our franchise QB. Wouldn't we all be grateful we realized this NOW instead of dragging this on for years?!! This could potentially go on for 3 years til we know what we have in Henne! Teams like the Jets are getting a franchise Qb NOW while we waste our time with a Vet, serviceable at best, and our young QB on the bench!

We need a young QB with first round talent, whether it be Henne, White, or someone else. Until Henne is productive in a real game, we still dont know. We are still in the SAME QB limbo we have been in since Marino retired! As FinsFaninIraq said, there are 3 top tier prospects in the upcoming draft. Are we going to put all of our eggs into the Henne basket? Fine. Then don't cry when Chad Henne Becks us!

Well, as long as the kneejerk reactions apply to everyone fairly I suppose that's alright. Thing is, if you put Henne in and he sucks...shouldn't he get more than one partial season as a starter? I mean if he's John Beck bad then sure, but 99% chance is that he sucks but just not bad enough to ditch immediately.

I think all those who are advocating starting Henne now need to understand we're going to be stuck with him for better or worse for AT LEAST another full season if not more...that's how you properly commit to a young QB. You can keep a revolving door at QB if you want and draft one every single year looking for your Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco or dare I say, Mark Sanchez. But chances are you won't get him and will waste a lot of draft picks in the process.

That is all the more reason for us to put Henne in this year! He needs atleast a year and a 1/2! And if he is John Beck bad, we can still possibly draft a QB this spring.

I hate to say this, but it is almost unfortunate we drafted Pat White. I really like the kid, but he is soo small. I just don't see him being a starting QB in this league. If he perfects that long ball then he will be the ultimate gimmick QB, but we STILL need to draft another QB to compete with Henne, IMO.

We don't NEED to do anything. We need a lot of things besides a QB. The problem is you're still waiting for someone to be like Marino. That's a once in a lifetime player. get over it.

Henne is made up of everything we are...Blood and bone etc...and if you place him behind this O-line...he will get killed or just throw alot more interceptions.

Henne will likely get his chance next year. He's already been tagged as the next "guy", it's just a matter of when. He has to take his lumps against real competition, and unless there's a coaching change, Henne will get multiple seasons to prove himself.

We need a LOT of things besides a QB? Besides better play from our OL & QB, I think we have a pretty good team, especially when are corners become more experienced.

No one is asking for a Marino. I know he is a once in a lifetime player. But what the hell does that have to do with upgrading Pennington?!?

You answered you're own question. Yesterday was not an example of a pretty good team.

I am perfectly fine with finding out about Henne if our season gets out of reach. But there is no way I beleive putting him in sooner then later is going to improve our win loss record.

I am not arguing that. I am just going out on a limb and hoping our OL comes together by the end of the year. Tony Sporano happens to have experience with OLs.

But regardless if we are good or not. The QB position takes by far the longest to fill! We can get better in the 4-5 years its going to take us to find a franchise qb! Penne would only be useful if we had a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl this year. We have 0.0 chance. Why waste more time. Thats all im saying.

If you've followed anything Parcells has done over the years, putting in a young QB isn't his M.O.

Clearly Henne's time is NEXT year. Although I thought late in the game yesterday would've been good to put Henne or White in for experience. But you also tell your team you're throwing in the towel. Team morale is more important than fan morale. I believe Henne is learning valuable lessons sitting on the sideline. He'll get his shot this season if the line is pourus as it was yesterday. Pennington will never survive at this rate. Henne may not either.

You wanna know what Henne wil look like;

Just change the picture from Penny to Henne. Unless you get the O-line to protect the QB...it won't matter.

Can someone tell me how a team with an o-line that looked a hell of a lot worse than ours puts 24 points on the Ravens D?? And we can't do **** against the falcons????

It for Brodie Croyle for god sake!!!!
