So today i saw our Dolphins run great, but we didnt run enough.. We abadon the run game during the 2nd and 3rd Q, why? Even in the final play of offense we should have gave the ball to ricky who had got at least 2 yards each time he got the ball today.
Today everytime ricky williams got the ball, he did great. But we didnt run enough, the running game was working and we just chose to pass way to many times instead of running which was working. We need to run more tough run up the middle run plays, wildcat is good and all, but we sometimes just need to run right down the middle.. Hopefully next time the Dolphins are running nice, they stick with and win like that, instead of passing so many times, even though its not working..

well yeah, but when it comes to straight up running the ball, we're not very good at it.

Both ronnies big TD run and Rickys big TD came out of the wildcat. It'd be wonderful if we could line up in a simple I-formation and run up the middle but we can't seem to do that anymore.

I don't even want to talk about this, i almost burst an aorta screaming for the Phins to run the ball on first or second down in the second half. With all the success we had in the first half running it we just stopped in the second half. Stupid.

I definatly agree with you here. Ricky was running strong and RB wasnt doing too bad either. Ricky was running wild all game. My question for the phins today was, you've got the lead and a strong running game that was working great all game, why stop?

Running

People know that Ricky and Ronnie hit the holes up the middle , we've been doing it for quite a while. It's part of their game prep. We need to mix it up with passing and Chad is high up in the rankings. Do not forget that Chad part 2 is coming up and with his arm we will be passing more and probably deeper routes. That should help R & R as the defenses have to adjust to the deeper threat. Balanced teams do better since defenses have to prep for more formations.

thank the lord for the cat.without it we would be lucky to have 2 wins.

Normally i would agree with you, but today we did run well on normal I-formation/strong pro/weak pro formations.. I consider 3-4 yards good, obviously if your looking for 15 yards runs from those formations, then its bad.. But today we ran for a good on normal formations, just didnt do it enough, we could have done A LOT better if we would have run more.. If you run the ball enough, other things open up :).

I was disgusted that we didn't line up in a basic formation and run a power play on 3rd down and 2, after Camarillo idiotically failed to surge upfield for the 1st down.

We were inches from a game-losing fumble by Pennington on that soft 3rd down play.

It's one of the reasons I believe there's probably some legitimacy to the rumor the brass wants to replace Satele at center. A Parcells team wants to line up and pound it in situations like that, but with this lineup they have no confidence in attempting it.

I was going absolutely freakin' nuts when we were up 14-0 and came out throwing. I knew something bad was going to happen before Pennington threw the pick.

It was totally unnecessary at that point to try and force it.

welllllllllllllllllll when teams stack the box like the seahawks were doing a lot of today, it is kind of tough to run the ball.

And if we do a three and out, people are all over Sparano for playing Wanny-Ball. I disagree with you here, my freind.

Those 5 straight drives that we came out flat and did nothing was because lack of running. 14 up and we come out passing?? We are very lucky to have had this one today.

I said nothing about running it three straight times .Just run the ball on first down and second down. At that time we were running well. You put yourself in short passing down on 3rd if need be. It has nothing to do with Wad ball.

I feel what you are saying, and your point is well taken. I applaud the staff for going for the throat. There is inherant risk there, and, I was happy they were attacking. CP got hit and the ball went awry....These things happen.

That was the momentum swing to me. You throw the football three straight times after Ricky just went 51 yards for the TD. I'm not sure why except for like you said they were going for the throat but we aren't built that way. A grind it out drive there would have been a killer. I was pissed at Henning at that point. Very questionable.
