We offically signed Wes Welker and......

Good signing by the Fins. Every punt return he had (except one) he made at least 2 guys miss. He is not very fast, but has very good quickness and vision. He had one great return in the preseason that he returned for a TD that he basically did it all by himself where he ran about 150 yds total as he crisscrossed 80 yds to the endzone.

Only problem with him is he needs to learn to fair catch. The one where he didnt make anyone miss he got drilled as a gunner had a free shot at him and he fumbled in the last preseason game. Only reason he was cut is Chargers only had 3 safeties and a good one became available. He should help you guys.

I don't know. After watching this. He looks fairly fast to me. He out ran quite a few on some of these returns. Impressive. :up:

This guy's indeed a playmaker. Good pickup for us IMO. Seems like He runs right through the endzone, still trying to pick up more yards or something :lol:
 
good signing watching him in the pre-season and in college I can tell you he is pretty good. The main reason I believe they cut him is Tim Dwight is a pretty good return man, and they no longer need Dwight to be the go-to guy on offense because of Caldwell,Parker, and Osgood(crazy I know)

BTW we did not sign Martin because we're getting ready to cut Lee. We signed Martin because he's a GREAT blocker, and with our OL, Konrad hurt, and Easlick an enigma, you ned a great blocker.

Welker

Speaking as a Texas Tech alum that has watched Welker the past four years ... he is special. Not the biggest, fastest, strongest guy, but he is a straight player. Like someone said before, Wes is cut from the same mold as Zach Thomas. Not the most physically imposing guy, but loves the game and always gives 100%.

You guys are going to love watching him play. BTW ... Zach was my all time favorite Red Raider until Welker came along.:goof:
