Here’s the order of the first 20 picks in the 2014 NFL Draft, at the conclusion of the regular season. Ties are broken by strength of schedule. The remaining picks will be determined by playoff results:
1. Texans
2. Rams (via Redskins)
3. Jaguars
4. Browns
5. Raiders
6. Falcons
7. Buccaneers
8. Vikings
9. Bills
10. Lions
11. Titans
12. Giants
13. Rams
14. Bears
15. Steelers
16. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)
17. Cowboys/Ravens (coin flip)
18. Jets
19. Dolphins
20. Cardinals

Might as well be 20, might as well be 220 with Ireland making the picks.

I know i'll be flamed for this, but 19 is a lot better than 23- 25 if we would have beat NY/BUF and lost in round one of the playoffs... Gotta look at the positive here. There is a TON of talent in this years draft.

How the hell do the Jets pick before us if they finished ahead of us in the standings???

That might be true but hopefully he's not making the picks...it's four years late but I hope he's gone.

Strength of Schedule. They played a weaker schedule than we did.

You have to think Ireland is gone. He somehow managed to screw up all those draft picks last year, blew a ton of cap space and has made the playoffs once in his 6 year reign.

There's been a "ton" of talent in every draft and we've not taken advantage of our draft position. Last year we had a lot of picks and we got nothing from our draft class. We've had chances at elite players and passed on them for solid, safe players. Change won't come unless the GM changes.

I'm not sure. I liked our picks, but the only problem I have is that almost everyone of them has issues understanding the playbook. I'm not sure who has been in charge of the rookies learning the schemes the past 2 years, but it's been the same **** for 2 years straight.. From what I read that's why Miller didn't get much reps last year. Same with Gillislee, Thomas, Sims, Davis and Taylor this year. Pretty ridiculous....

Miller had issues picking up blitz protections...he had that issue in college...he had that issue early this season in pass protection. That's why he didn't get on the field last year.

Davis and especially Taylor were hurt. Davis got hurt in the last preseason game and then fell down the depth chart. Taylor was draft hurt and was hurt for most of the season and he was too far behind when he was finally healthy...which I think lasted all of about 2 or 3 games this season.

Dallas Thomas didn't have problems picking up the scheme...he just sucks. He got run over in preseason. You do realize that Sam Brenner was an undrafted rookie in this class and played as a rookie and actually started. As a matter of fact Brenner and Michael Thomas...an undrafted free agent and a practice squad player from another team...got more playing time then our draft picks. What does that tell you?

essentially we played in a division that didn't have any 2-14 played twice teams to bring us down. Had San Diego lost, I'd be willing to gamble they probably would of had a stronger SOS, just based on them facing Denver/KC 4 times.

So between us and the Jets, it came down to us playing the Colts / Chargers, while they played the Raiders / Titans. Obviously the 2 playoff teams we faced gave us a better SOS.

There were 6 teams with an 8-8 record. Does this mean the order is reversed in rd.2....meaning we draft 14th in that round?

I'm just going off of what was written about them. I know about Miller's pass protection problems, but I also know that I read he had problems picking up the offense last year. So did Sims and Egnew. From watching the little bit of play of Davis and Taylor you can tell with your own eyes that they didn't know where they were supposed to be half the time. Taylor even admitted he was behind in both aspects; play speed and playbook due to injury..

Brenner played almost every position on the line for Utah, he had a leg up on the competition due to that experience plus he was in zbs. Dallas was mostly in mbs.

And Michael Thomas was thrown into that game because we had no one else... Only him and Don Jones.
