I have no idea why we do not get the ball to our two best offensive playmakers. Ronnie and Ricky need touches early in games if we plan on making the playoffs this year.

I mean, our OL gets paid enough don't they? I know we struggle to run between the tackles, but on the edge, we had a solid game against the Falcons. Ronnie and Ricky combined had 10 carries for 44 yards.

That is very solid and as bad as Jake played in the passing game, he still did a fine job in run blocking. Mathis on one side weighs just 245 and Freeney on the other side weighs just 268 and with no Bob Sanders flying around at the line of scrimmage, I think our two RB's can punish some LB's on the edge. So the remedy is establish the run on the edge and get them moving side to side and the middle should open up a little. Also, it will help in the passing game.

Fact is, if we don't get our rushing game going this year, we will be eliminated from the playoffs ealry this year. Hopefully Henning can get his head out of his a** and fix our O right now. Enough with the gadget plays, for now. The Wildcat will not work if our guys cannot even establish some rushing continuity in our base formations.

Give the ball to Ricky and Ronnie and we win this game. :hi5:

That is crazy but it might work.

I'd just love to see a game where Ronnie gets 20 or so carries, and Ricky gets around 15. But nooo.. we give them the ball less than 10 times a game and ****ing give up on them. It really does tick me off. We have so much talent in the backfield and how is the talent going to be unveiled if it's got a chain leash holding it back?

I thought I read somewhere the word "playoff", but I'am sure i must be dreaming. The R&R express will get about 12 - 15 touches on the ball.
Go figure

We'd have to stay in the game for that to happen. No turnovers, nothing that will put Manning in the position to bury us early.

Yeah. The run game was abandoned once the Tigers were down by two touchdowns.

we should make a new rule, no wildcat until 10 carries by our running backs!

This is a laugher... The dolphins won't have 30 yards rushing. The Dolphins couldn't beat the Canes much less the Colts...

Do you think so? Would you care to share your assured position with the rest of us?

We have so much talent and depth in the HB position. I mean, we even kept Hilliard! I'm just trying to figure out WHY. I'm Aldo trying to figure out WHY we don't run with said talent. Sparano sees Ricky and Ronnie in the practices running, we don't really see them running in the games too much. Is it possible that Sparano has concluded that our runnin game isn't very good from practice or something? Either way, we won't know until we give them te ball. Even if we only get 60 yards or less running on 20+ touches, at least we fed them the ball and made the defense do something beside pass defend.

We had a nice YPG last week with no really long runs to skew the AVG and we still chose to abandon the run. Very frustrating.

Living in central Ohio, I only see a handful of Fins games each year, but it seems like we never put the backs in a position to succeed. The Wildcat kind of made up for that, but there's no reason why the OC cannot design plays to isolate R or R against defenders knowing that they'd win most matchups. We have horribly unimaginative play calling and I cannot understand why.
