I cant believe that we couldnt keep Madison especially for the price. We should have matched what NY is giving him. They're practically getting an AWSOME #2 and Average #1 corner for free. I think this is the first time i didnt like what Saban did.
 
Get over the Sam love fest. He didn't fit into Saban's schemes and is getting older. Saban wants to bring in some new blood.
 
Madison's over primetime now... better off not paying his cheque anymore....
 
sam had good years with this team but he was declining fast and didnt have a great year last year....he could NOT tackle last year horrible against the run...hes best days are behind him...just hoping he retires as a dolphin

I wasnt sad when I saw Sam leave. But I got sad when I saw the contract he signed. For that price we could still use a good nickle or 2nd corner in the scheme. AT least he knows it. It was not like he is expensive, he probably won't even get those two final years on his deal.
 
I hate seeing Sam go, and I will still cheer him on, but I think it was best for both parties. Its gonna be different to not see numbr 29 out there.
 
It was definitely time for Sam to move on. He wasn`t near the cover corner he was when he first came into the league, his interceptions had dropped off to near nothing, and his poor tackling only got worse (if that was possible). He was good in his day, but the writings been on the wall since the day Saban got here. I give him two years tops in NY, then he`s done.

We couldn't have signed Sam because Sam didn't want to come back. Aside from that, this was not an unexpected move (to cut him). He has lost a step, is a poor tackler and really doesn't fit very well with what Saban wants his corners to do...The move that Saban makes to replace him will be the tell-tale one IMO...Jimmy Williams ???

Sam and his agent had even said they would be willing to take a pay cut. I don't see how he didnt want to come back. Yes he doesn't fit well but I think at the price the Giants paid he would be more useful on this team seeing as how we still have gaping holes back there.

DITTO!! I love these people who didn't give two ***** when SM was here, now that he's gone it's a terrible lost!! The fact of the matter being is that Madison hasn't been up to snuff in years!! He's not what he once was and the Giants will soon find that out!!:evil:

Yea, I read that article too, but Sam has been pissed at the Fins since they used the money he gave up on his last restructure to sign McMIke to a LT contract in stead of Surtain...As much as Madison has been a good cover guy in his time here, his time had passed...he had lost a step and Saban doesn't want cover corners that can't tackle...I thank him for his time here, but won't cry over it...
