we should put up 30+ on pats

We shouldve put up 30 on them last time. It was there for the taking. Too many missed opportunities by our offense. We have to execute better.

30 wouldve been enough to beat them last time. Our defense was outstanding in that game. What they did to Brady was something few teams have ever done. The offense wasted a golden opportunity. If they had gotten the job done last time, we would be playing for a division title this week and still had a great shot at a 1st round bye.

Our defense is beasting this season and if the offense was just a smidgen better they would be the talk of the town. This will likely be a close game, we'll make Brady look like relative **** again and if the offense can make some plays we should win.

I think people are underestimating the fact that Brady just doesn't play well at Sun Life for whatever reason, especially in December and ESPECIALLY against this new and improved D, and ESPECIALLY without Gronk.

All I know is that BB will coach circles around Philbin if the game is close at the end... For this reason, we must have at least a 3 score lead going into the last 5 minutes of the game to win safely...

It's not only the last game. Miami's defense has been one of the few in the league to consistently harass Brady, and it's been going on for a while now. The problem before was that Sparano/Henning/Daboll had a lack of offensive playmakers and were usually out-coached. Now, Philbin/Sherman have enough talent on offense to dominate NE, but only in the first half. For some reason, Miami has a problem with scoring in the last 20-25 minutes of the game; not to mention the fact that they usually start out slow. Philbin/Sherman have the talent on the field to beat NE, but they just can't seem to use that talent to it's fullest potential.

If we put 30 points on the board that means our running game needs to perform well.100 yards rushing, not including any tanny scrambles, just hard nose in between the tackles rushing by Thomas and lamar. If the play action works and Tanny has time this game will be ours. And a few sacks by wake, vernon and Jordan for good measure.Obviously it would be nice to see Wallace have a big game.A few big plays from BIG PLAY CLAY.Hartline runs his precision routes...then yeah we put up 30 and r talkin playoffs

They averaged 20 without Gronk, Amendola and Vereen and 2 rookie wideouts.
Now only gronk is missing. I'm worried about this game, a lot.
They will be in wounded animal mode.

Really? Doubt it! I will take the win with us scoring 30 points or 3, just win!

Guys remember. The Fins beat themselves. Just like last time. They do not understand a huge halftime lead. They get comfy and don't put the foot on the neck, like Belichick says. So, the Fins and the pats work together for the pats to win.

The pats win because they've been there, done that. Our team is too young to get this.

As usual, please prove me wrong Miami. Just don't beat urselves.

I see it differently. BB plays rope a dope, he goes in at halftime and then gameplans but Brady turns up the hurry up heat.

They start scoring thereby changing momentum, thereby getting cheap calls from refs in their favor so they pull another one out.

Little problem here IMO. We are in Miami. Decent crowd will show, and the refs will take heat.

Also they only won on a cheap PI call that everyone who will acknowledge the play (ESPN wont), realizes they were nothing but lucky thanks to refs.

Its all too fresh in everyones minds. Just like Pitt and Tomlin.

We don't necessarily beat ourselves as much as everything starts beating up on us.

The deal for me to win is the same and never changes for me. Play tight coverage all day. Don't back off. Don't overblitz. LB's stay in middle of field and watch the cross routes and RB dump offs.

I would just rush four or use speed package with one extra here and there.

How often do the Patriots allow 30+ in a division game? You can't look at this game without realizing how differently the divisional games are played, that the coaching staff and players are well aware of personnel and tendencies. They prioritize division opponents throughout the offseason. Consequently the games don't unfold like the Texans game or other reference points that are so conveniently embraced.

The one guarantee is we'll have to adjust. The things we are counting on will be taken away, particularly early in the game.

Agreed. As I posted in my thread about the game...

Belichick's MO as a defensive mind has always been to do anything he has to do to take away what you do best. And by anything I mean... almost literally anything. At points against the Falcons he had two guys up on the line of scrimmage against Tony Gonzalez, playing more like offensive linemen than defenders. That left the defense with, essentially, 10 men. But Belichick didn't care. He wanted to stop Gonzalez.

The worst kept secret in Dolphinland is that our offense runs through Hartline and Clay. Not the $60 million receiver. And I think that's where Belichick's focus will be. He'll be trying to take away those two guys, even if it means leaving Wallace out there in one on one coverage at times.

Dangerous strategy? Sure. There's nothing worse than a 75 yard touchdown play, and Aqib Talib's weakness has always been long speed. But look at our play designs. Look at Wallace's route running and his effort on 50/50 balls. Would you be scared if you were a defensive coordinator? Honestly, I wouldn't be. Where's the evidence that Tannehill and Wallace can hook up for these plays with any consistency, even if you give them the coverage? If Wallace shakes loose, say, twice, then maybe you change your plan. But the short passing game has become our bread and butter, and for two reasons. First of all, our offensive line is a sieve, as has been well publicized. But Wallace has forced coverages to stay back despite our OL woes, which has helped us move the ball with controlled passing.

If I'm Bill Belichick, I'm coming out with a plan to make us be the first team to beat him with long balls from Tannehill to Wallace. Make us prove it.

As a result, I honestly do think this could be the game where Wallace really breaks out. Or perhaps the game where he's finally the indisputable goat.

A lot of RT's pics come in misreads on disguised coverage.
Often to Hartline.
I think BB will try to bait RT into some throws. It is imperative that RT minimize mistakes monday.
