i think jr has been a key part in the success of our defense early in the season, especially vs the run. i'd hate for him to come back for the bills game less than 100% and create a situation where his calf injury would bother him for the rest of the season and even cause him to miss more time. i think it would be wise to give him an extra week or even 2 to try and let his injury completely heal. i say we start spragan vs the bills and still keep jr active so that if spragan shows to be a major liability in the first half, we do what we gotta do and put jr in there because we can't afford to start 0-2 in the division.

agree with you, Seau has been playing great but he is up there in age, so giving him the bye plus an extra game to rest sounds about right.

I think that's a great idea...we may have to anyway if he's still hurting come gameday. Spragan should be able to handle things against Buffalo.

Yea....ya know, since McGahee sucks ....you should just rest all your starting LB's for that cake walk.......

... the post wasn't about us not rating Mcgahee. It was about conserving Seau so he won't miss any more games because he is old and takes longer to heal and recover.

I would have gone with your assesment of the original post if he didn't mention bringing Seau in if Spragan tanks.

I think we have to rest Seau, due to the chance of him coming back to soon. Also this will give us a chance to see what the others can do. Maybe this will give us some more flexibility to have another body assist the cornerbacks if needed.

Who said anything about a cakewalk?...But look...Losman threw for 113 yds against Tampa...and for 75 yards last week...So don't expect Mc-Gay-hee to have another 140 yds on the ground. Even without Seau we will be keyed on him all day because Losman hasn't done anything in the last 2 games...Granted, that was against 2 pretty good defenses but we have a pretty good defense too.

There is no cake walk in the NFL especially in the AFC East. I just think it would be foolish to rush him, and then further the damage, and possibly miss a lot more time. The Bills will be a challenge as always, it has nothing to do with a cake walk, but ensuring our players are properly healed.

dude if the broncos, jets and panthers can't run on us, willis mcgahee sure as hell isn't going to run on us, especially with the inconsistency your o line has shown and the injury to mike williams. is it true you guys actually started greg jerman? a dolphins o line reject? that is PITIFUL. my point is merely we are not playing the chiefs or chargers or someone with a serious running game in week 5 and spragan should be able to do well enough not to be a big liability. if for some reason he tanks and isn't getting it done then we will be forced to play jr.

I would sit him, but keep him dressed just as an emergency LB. He has been playing lights out lately.
