DISCLOSURE STATEMENT: This post is critical of the team and coaches. If you are one of those people that cannot stand fans being critical of the Dolphis, please don't read this. It will only serve to upset you. :::::::

For everyone else.....

We should thank these guys after last night for reminding us that this team is only one full season removed from 1-15.

TB, without an NFL caliber QB, missing both of their top WRs, marched up and down the field at will. They avg over 5 YPC in the first half. Thank God Leftwich sucks, he missed two open WRs for TDs. Our safety play was atrocious. Horrible. Neither of these guys can cover their grandmother. It was a painful thing to watch. But that being said, it was still waaaaay better than our offense.

Hell, Cam Cameron coaching and John Beck QBing would not have been worse than we saw last night. I did not see one, not one, offensive player (maybe Hartline, but he drew a big penalty early) that was impressive. Not at all. Long gave up a sack. Grove got his *** kicked. Vernon Indukwe...I thought we traded him? Wow. To say these guys were bad doesnt even describe them. They were putrid. They were embearassing. I think they owe their coaches an apology this morning, I think the O-coaches, HC Tony Sparano and OC Kippy Brown, owe Parcells an apology, and I think Parcells owes Stephen Ross and us fans a huge apology for that public display of football. What a disaster; at every level.

I am thinking that maybe Parcells knew this about the team, has already had that talk with Mr. Ross, and told him, "If you want people to pay to come watch this garbage, you better offer something besides what we have to offer." Ross replies, "What can I do?" BP says, "I dont know, celebrity tennis matches between the Williams sisters, J-LO dancing to her husbands music, have Gloria Estefan feel the heat and do that ramba...anything but Miami Dolphins football. Its gonna suck." Ross replies, "Hmmmm...I got an idea."

Chad Henne is our future? God, be merciful and forbid it. The only thing worse than thinking about Henne in our future is Pennington in our present. We still have no QB. STILL! Lex Hilliard is a keeper at RB? Say it ain't so. We are deep at WR? Really now. We have the most expensive OT combo in the league....ROFL. What a waste of Mr. Ross's money.

Reggie Torbor should be gone after that stupid penalty he committed. Thats the kind of thing that will get you beat. Lex Hilliard should be gone after that fumble late in the game. Thats the kind of thing that will get you beat. I am sure all the RB are wishing they were gone...that kind of blocking will get them killed.

My player of the game? Quentin Moses. He played great. He was all over the field, put great pressure on the QB. Kershaw (I think it was him) very solid. Wake played decent. Sean Smith wasnt horrible. Everyone else, trade them to KC for a late round draft pick. Other than just a couple of players (less than 7), this was as unimpressive a performance as anything I remember watching from an "alleged" playoff contender. Disgraceful.

If the STs coach has any honor at all, he will resign this morning. After a training camp and 4 preseason games last year, 16 reg season games, 1 playoff game, an offseason of OTAs, Training Camp, and three preseason games, our STs are still awful. Awful. If he wont do the honorable thing and quit, then Sparano should do the responsible thing and fire him. Its inexcusable. Its unthinkable how bad we are on STs. Block a punt and then touch the ball? Geez. Who is our STs coach anyway, Leon Lett?

So thanks guys for tempering any enthusiasm that might have been building. Thanks for showing us that based on last nights game, you guys are much closer to the Lions than you are the Steelers. Painful to think about, but good to know. Thanks for letting us get an honest look at this team. Thanks for letting us know that you guys STILL suck.

This post is GREAT - yes note the sarcasm... What concept of inproving do you not understand... THe Fins as a team will have bad games it in no way means that we are worse and everyone should be fired... From your post is sounds like you think the team sould be disbanded... some fan you are...
Will you print a retraction if we play well opening day? I doubt it. Just pathetic to watch fans love everybody one day and hate them the next... this board is begining to sound like it should be in NY. It is slowly going away from smart analasis to out right crap like above....

Thanks for the reply, BG. I appreciate your opinion.

As for your comments I put in bold above...I dunno, tell me where we improved last night. Help me understand the concept. I stood in the rain and watched the game and I could not see any improvement. Please help.

I'm just hoping something good comes out of all of it. Sometimes you need a good square kick to the nads to set everything straight. This game should be a good teaching tool of what not to do.

To be honest I did not get to watch the game and I was as I got the play by pay just as frustrated as the next fan... I do want to see us light it up and be perfect but the is football and we can not expect to have great games every time... the fact is that we ARE improving... last night is just a bump in the road... we will learn from it and yes players will be cut and the roster turned over due specifically to last night... thats all part of the evaluation process and the process to get better... Last night didnt mean anything in the grand scheme of things except to show we still need MORE improvement. Sept 13th counts and if we are strong then then last night will be forgotten by all of us... just dont jump off the bridge before the season starts... look at last season 0-2 and the sky is falling... if you didnt stick arround you wouldnt have seen our team impress the doubters and win the devision...

Flounder, this might be the best explanation I have heard.(seen, read) yet.

Why not show EVERYTHING we're going to do in preseason. LET'S BE REALISTIC! Someone makes crazy assessments after every single preseason game. Ever take into account the players had a ridiculously short week and are still tired from the previous game? Ever think that Sparano might not want to show everything in the event that division rivals are watching? I for one am tired of all these doom and gloom threads. Why be a fan if you are constantly berating the team and it's players!? If you feel so miserably about the team you have 31 others to pick from

It's a preseason game plain and simple, I thought the Defense played decent, they had a rough start first 2 series but played solid the rest of the night. Holding a team to field goals is a win in my book. Sure the Buc's marched up and down the field at will but once they got to the red zone things tighten up.
As for the offense..... it was one of those nights.... Hartline had flashes of promise but other than that not much to talik about. Buc's were fired up and ready to play on both sides of the ball. Dolphins played flat.

Don't worry though Tony and company will make them pay come practice time.

Geaux,
I know you warned about the post being negative. I'm all good for a bit of pessimism and not "towing the company line," but this post is just downright inflammatory.
In no way those this post help with any type of reaction to the game, seeing that your suggestions (while many tongue in cheek) are completely absurd.

Overall, the analysis is completely lacking any type of substance, and is just a gut reaction from a emotional fan. Take a few days, a deep breath, drink a beer, and just relax a bit.

By no means did our team play well last night. There were very few positives to take out of it, and I don't want to make any excuses for the horrid performance, but don't go hanging yourself over it.

Reacting like this does not make you look like a diehard fan. It makes you look very fickel, no better then the Philly fans calling for Vick after McNabb incompletions.

Look over it and think hard about hitting the delete button. Your a good poster, but this is just garbage.

This is exactly what pre-season is for, working out the kinks. You can't expect mid-season form right now. We know from last year that a couple bad games do not determine the season, this coaching staff will work the problems out. Have Faith and this bandwagon jumping is certainly sad to read after every practice, play and game. It's like people have never played or coached sports before, there ebb's and flow's to every sport, some of you need to learn to ride them out.

Actually I would think the Bucs fans wouldn't be too unhappy with last night.

Look at it a different way. We played about as bad as we could in the first half and we still won the game. I know the win doesn't really count, but it's better than losing.

Also for all the bad throws Leftwich made, he also made some amazing throws. The one he squeezed in to stovall with Smith in coverage comes to mind. The guy is a decent QB just inconsistent, which is why they drove up and down the field but couldn't score.
