We signed a Center!

Saban let coach HH bring in somebody to replace Smith ( who do to his injury may miss the whole year), and from what I have been hearing this guy is a good pick up.

Is this a fact or are you speculating?

Here is another link from Philly... He started in the game when philly ran for its season high in yardage in 2003...

"A rookie free agent in 2003, Ephraim stepped up and performed pretty well in a critical spot against a tough Packers interior defensive line last season. Teaming with Steve Sciullo, the pair of second-year linemen won the battle in the trenches, neutralizing the massive tackle tandem of Grady Jackson and Cletidus Hunt inside.

The results were reflected in the Eagles' season-high total of 542 total net yards in a 47-17 win.

Sure, Ephraim made some mistakes in his first NFL start, but it was valuable experience.

Though he allowed one sack, Ephraim certainly gained some confidence from the overall success he had that day. "

I know that coach HH is consulted whenever the O-line is involved. I took care of a patient ( which I will not name) who is in the Phins coaching staff and because I was terribly worried about our O-line we talked about this subject, and that is what i was told. I also found out that coach HH personally scouted Alabi, coach HH visited Alabi at his home. Listen coach Saban is a smart man, he knows that coach HH is one of the best O-line coaches in the bussiness, so irregarless of what i've been told dont you think Saban will listen to what coach HH has to say regarding who he would like to be brought in here.

Seems to be a good signing.I've been lobbying about the Center position for awhile now. Hopefully he can contribute.

well theres a reason he was cut so.....

This is true Tucker, to which I don't know, however he may be an upgrade, and more teachable then what we currently have. Only time will tell! I like the move.:beerbang:

I grew up in Philly and follow the Eagles pretty closely. They have a great o-line so I think it was mainly just a numbers game with him. I remember him coming in several times over the last couple years and he seemed to be a pretty solid back-up. Of course, he had the benefit of playing with a really good group of lineman and they gave him help occasionally. One thing for sure is that he is stronger than McKinney and didn't get bulled repeatedly like Seth. He held up pretty well against the run and the pass. He's pretty stationary (no Kevin Mawae here) but I would think he has some potential to be solid. Neither Smith nor McKinney are starting caliber players imo so I think it's a good signing for depth and to push them. I think Wade has the most potential of them all, but he's hurt, and really still a project at any position.

Seems like a good backup at C. Now i kind of doubt that he will make the team, but i am hoping that he will make a strong push for it.

He has a strong resemblance to Ricky:

It's clearly too late for him to start at center... 4 days before pre-season starts, and he just got a playbook. I would think, either they play him at center, to get experience as a long-term solution, or they play him at guard. If he's a good enough guard, then you might be able to move hadnot over. Even learning the guard position, it would be a stretch to think somebody could come here this late and start week 1... week 4 maybe.

At least we have someone now to take away Taylor Whitley's backup spot.
