I dont think theres any downside here. Bell and Tillman will still get to play - and play a lot - if either is capable of performing at a high level. Make no mistake, Saban isnt looking for one year wonders, hes looking to build a team. However, until the young pups develop, Lance gives our secondary a pro-bowl caliber player in the event that the young guys arent ready to go.
On the other hand, if Bell (or Tillman) evolves into a ball-hawking FS this season, then I wouldnt be surprised if Schulters is moved into more of a supporting role. With a one year salary at the vets minimum, our financial investment here is marginal at best.
