We signed Shulters.....

I know this is changing the subject, but I am gunning for us to go after Pat Watkins as our next free safety in the draft next year. He's 6/4 204 pounds, plays the ball really well and is very fast, perfect for what we need. We could land him in the 3rd round after our quarterback and center.:D

Yes. They will provide roster updates online throughout the season.

I dont think theres any downside here. Bell and Tillman will still get to play - and play a lot - if either is capable of performing at a high level. Make no mistake, Saban isnt looking for one year wonders, hes looking to build a team. However, until the young pups develop, Lance gives our secondary a pro-bowl caliber player in the event that the young guys arent ready to go.

On the other hand, if Bell (or Tillman) evolves into a ball-hawking FS this season, then I wouldnt be surprised if Schulters is moved into more of a supporting role. With a one year salary at the vets minimum, our financial investment here is marginal at best.

Translation=Its a win-win situation.
 
This is a BIG move. It helps in the area we most needed help. Plus Shulters was a Pro bowl type player a few years ago before he got hurt.

Even if he doesn't get the starting job, which I think he will, he is a huge upgrade.
