he lied On Draft day..saying we would pick Braylon, and bluffing, we thought he was god then... :shakeno:

There's a difference between "lying" and "engaging in tactical efforts to trade down in the draft."

ronnie still looks like the better pick..

23 rules..

I know hindight 20/20 but after all is said and done and now that rb's are a dime a dozen I wonder if he was the right pick. Don't get me wrong I think Brown will be a great one but Saban just went about building the fins the wrong way.

ya he did but when we got ronnie braylon got pissed off it was funny

No he didn't.
He never once told us who he was picking. Maybe he was trying to get Cleveland to trade up for Edwards, but he never mentioned that he was picking Braylon.

At the time we drafted Ronnie, we had no idea if Ricky Williams was coming back. In fact, drafting Ronnie may have been instrumental in Ricky coming back: it assured him that he wouldn't be run into the ground ala 2002.

"We" thought Saban was Great when....

we hired him.

I didn't.

I don't like "annoited" greatness or geniuses. It leaves no motivation to succeed.

Give me someone hungry, trusting of his staff, calculated in his approach, takes risks and puts his heart and soul into my team every day of his life.

Give me back Jim Bates.

I'm with ya brother

Jim Bates is a great mind but remember even though everyone liked Bates everyone wanted to escape the past of Wanny players so we were happy when Saban was coming now you guys want Bates back! I don't want Bates as a head coach but if somehow we need a DC because we grab an offensive head coach then sure all be happy with grabbing him!

I loved how people gave him props on his so called bluffing, which did not net us jack. Its not like Ronnie fell to us because we bluffed. Nobody wanted Ronnie enough to tarde anything decent. With three good backs on the board his value was minimal. Braylon would not have been a bad pick and for those that say that Brown has out perfromed him, maybe slightly but Edwards was 28th in receiving yards and Ronnie was 23rd in rushing yards and Edwards had six touchdowns compared to Ronnie's 5 so its not like Edwards is a bust and he has no QB as of yet.
