man this team is full of young studs! i remember just last season everyone was saying we were old and crappy now we have to be one of the youngest teams in the NFL! we will be back in the playoffs in no time, we only have 7 guys that are 30 and older on this team! ricky,holliday,porter,bell,feeley,furguson,taylor.

yea im glad were younger but im even happier we adressed the d-line cause we all remember what the raiders did to us now were ten times bigger and stronger and potential on offense but definitly need another reciver and corner.

Yup. Thats what old 1-15 teams end up doing eventually during a rebuild

Yea, it's definitley nice to know we have some sort of hope for the future. But, my question is: where do Roth and Holliday fit in all this? They are both making more than they should be making. Holliday brings more veteran leadership and better run stuffing, while Roth brings more youth and pass rushing ability. Does anyone know where Roth is at now in terms of weight right now? I don't see us carrying more than 4 defensive ends this year. We have five 3-4 ends that could possibly make the roster opening day (Merling, Langford, R. Wright, Holliday, and Roth), but one of those two guys are the odd man out. One thing that I do think is important for a young team is that they have some veteran leadership. I wouldn't mind keeping the players you mentioned.

I'd be surprised if Roth is on the roster this year. Holliday may stay, but, he's one more year max.
 
THIS is what should have happened years ago, instead we traded away draft picks, spent the few picks we had on mediocre players (except for those few that have panned out), and signed old players to contracts just so we could "win now".

We had chances to develop young talent, but threw them away. This regime is not having any part of that...and it's about time.
 
I think Roth is gone likely after this season. He doesn't really have a place on the team as of right now, but all that is subject to change.

I think we've definitely gotten a huge upgrade to our D and O lines. Impressive.
 
this is definitely a step in the right direction for us and about dang time too!!!!
 
I think Holliday goes before Roth does. Say what you want about veteran leadership, but it looks like this team is going to be full of kids in 2008. I've always felt that a team that grows up together, wins together.
