This team was 3-7 a year ago before going on that 6 game win streak. With that said, I'd like everyone who is interested to name one thing that is different about the 2006 Miami Dolphins, positive or negative....

The Secondary is really starting to look much better. To me, that is one area I was extremely worried about coming into the start of the 2006 season. Even when the season started, they looked very shaky / lost at times. I was certain that the secondary would be a major rebuilding process with the new players we've added, but half way through the season, they've really stepped up and given us some very good coverage recently....

Another thing that excites me, is the thought of not having to keep adding to the already existing core. The younger guys are starting to show progress, and that's great news considering it was completely rebuilt over the last two seasons....

Although there is still plenty of work to be done, and experiences to be learned, they're well on their way in my opinion. They've made more progress than any other area on defense in my opinion. Props Guys!!!!....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I think one of the main reasons the secondary is doing so well is because that is Saban's area of expertise.

We're 3-6. That's different - and positive - sort of...

The difference is that an 8 game winning streak is a lot harder than a 6 game winning streak... especially when you have the colts on your schedule. The upside is that we play them on week 16 and they might not play their starters.

P.S. - Don't think I'm putting off any of our other opponents, I'm just stating that if it happens that would be our most challenging week.

We are facing the Colts in week 17 and they will probably play their backups.

I think our schedule is much tougher this time around... Althouth alot of home games...

Tougher schedule, Linehan vs Mularkie, Wicky, Gus. Theres alot different this time around

No way the Colts blow there momentum again this year by sitting starters after clinching home field. And if they are still undefeated they will play to win. We get the colts A game in the final week

My only thought is: poor Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas. Two more Miami Dolphins who will go to the Hall of Fame - possibly without a ring. If only Saban had come to town five years earlier.....

Good Topic. We are now in the same lousy position we were last year.

If you had told me we would be 3-6 two weeks ago, I would have laughed and taken that bet.

Our remaining schedule is harder than last year.
*******
The defense is better than last year, the offense is worse. No need to focus on the defense.

On offense:
1. No Linehan on the sideline.
2. Hadnot vs. McKinney.
3. Frerotte vs. Harrington.
4. Shelton vs Hadnot at RG.
5. Ricky vs Morris as backup RB.
6. Smaller Randy McMichael.
*********
So far, Shelton has played well at RG.

Frerotte had a lousy first half of the season last year, but a good second half. Can our play at QB improve, like it did last year?

McKinney was a better run-blocker, Hadnot is a better pass-blocker.

McMichael can no longer block a Defensive End.

ps. Who will start at Left Guard this week?

to make the HOF without a SB ring, a player usually has to to something spectacular...like change the way his position is played, or set league records.

Unfortunately, although I think both ZT and JT are worthy of the HOF, I could easily see them never getting enough votes to get in.

Someone will beat the Colts before then it's bound to happen, if Buffalo could have made a FG or scored when they got in the red zone yesterday it would have been the Bills. The Colts are beatable. Most likely they won't be playing for anything at that point. Look at it this way if we come out of Turkey Day 5-6 with 10 days to get ready for Jax, we'll have a great shot because we should only be a game out of first place at point. I think they will be 5-6 going into December, and then they will control their own destiny. They could own tiebreakers over the Jets, KC, and Jax for the poetential 6 seed. I won't even go into what could happen if they some how won the division, because NE is very vulnerable right now.

I think our o-line and secondary are better.

I could see ZT not making the HOF because there have been other great MLB in his era. But the fact that JT has over 100 career sacks will give him a legit shot to make it.

We really need to build on this team that we have right now. I dont think that we should tear this team apart again this offseason. Of couse there are a couple positions that we could really use and upgrade, but I dont think we need to dismantle this entire team again. Our O-Line is coming around and looking pretty well, if the opportunity comes up that we can get a really good LT then I'm all for it, but unless its an absolute upgrade just leave stuff alone. Our secondary is the same way, J. Allen will more than likely be playing CB next year. He has looked pretty good with the chances that he has gotten this year and may be very good for next year opposite T. Daniels. Bell and maybe a draft pick/ free agent at saftey. Or keep J. Allen at Saftey with Bell and draft/free agent a good corner. Truthfully though W. Allen has been pretty solid for us all season. This secondary has looked much better than we all thought it would coming into the year. We all felt this was going to be our weakest point of the team and it really hasn't been.

I think this draft is really going to open up some options to us because we are going to be able to draft more off of want than need. We are going to be drafting backup players instead of starters.

The biggest problem that already see happening next year is the QB contro between Joey and Daunte, especially if Joey does lead us to win 6 or 7 more games this year. Its going to be really hard for Saban to take Joey our and start Daunte.

100 sacks is not enough. Is Trace Armstrong a Hall-of-Famer? JT is still trailing him. 120+ sacks is required.
