I think what Saban wants to see is more of the defense doing what it did last time, with the backups looking much better. On offense what he wants to see is first downs and moving the chains. He also does not want to see any fluke plays givin up (what did we have like 4 last game?).
I dont think he really cares about a win so much as he wants to keep it close in the fourth so that when a game counts they can start gameplanning around the defense to pull off wins. In other words, if we lose it wont be a big deal, but if we play mistake free ball, then we are progressing towards winning when it counts.
Things I care about:
Turnovers: Gus cannot throw Ints and Lamar Gordon and others cannot fumble.
Moving the chains. If we move the chains consistantly, particularly on third downs, then everything else will fall into place.
Oline improvement from last week would be awesome. If Mckinney and Hadnot can stick together and prove they belong, then Ricky and Ronnie will make holes themselves.
Players I keep an eye on:
Ronnie Brown, for obvious reasons.
Gus and particularly Feeley, cus if he sucks tonight, he will be gone!
Vernon Carey
Mcmicheal, when does he get into action? hiding out.
Lance Shulters because we need him to step up into the first team for depth there.
Travis Daniels. does he play tonight? and last but not least.................
Lorenzo Diamond.
