Wednesday Morning Practice Tweets

Nanee was 6th in the league in YAC yards last year. We need a receiver like that. Philbin has credited him with a great camp so far. I'm not exactly reading anything from reports that state he's crapping the bed and needs to be cut or traded.
I see you've posted that several times, that may have been the only significant thing he's done. certainly nothing else in his career even warrents speaking about unless you want to speak about the lack of production.

What has he done to warrant being done in camp? Oh wait that's right .... N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

was that 6th yac with naanee on average per catch??? cause i don't recall any real production from him catch # wise...

Is that a serious question?

It was the league's stats for who had the most total yards AFTER their catches. Think about that too ... he was 6th and he wasn't the primary or secondary target in Carolina's offense. Smith and the TE's were.

how many catches did he have all told???
42 @ 10 ypc. thank goodness he was 6th in the league in YAc.

Wait .... scratch my YAC stat on Nanee.

When I originally clicked the link on it from a Google search it took me deeper into the pages.

Now quickly, where is that mud so I can pour it on my face? LOL
oops. good catch. (no sarcasim intended)

i was wondering what the hell you were talking about...ha ha...now you cutting naanee??? cause in san diego the guy was awful as a wr

See I don't remember that at all. I remember Rivers still putting up good numbers with the most name-less WR core ever and everyone kept wondering how long he could keep it up. There was some other guy named Sirytoutou or something.

EDIT: His name was Seyi Ajritutu

I thought I read something earlier in camp where Pruitt was an up man on the special teams unit, which was an indication he's made the team. I don't remember where it was said, perhaps in a reporters tweet? It's hard to see any of these guy's who disappear with the pads on, actually make the team. Wallace seems to have finally developed into an NFL caliber WR, he seems to be making plays for both Garrard and Moore each practice. Pruitt has been the most talked about since the OTA's but once again hasn't been heard from since camp started.

I'm sorry, but this is just not correct. He was not 6th in YAC last year. He was 103rd out of 185, if you tally all receivers regardless of participation. If you tally only receivers that took at least 25% of their teams snaps, he was 74th out of 115. At the 50% participation level, he was 51st out of 74. So he was somewhere between 56th and 69th percentile...call it about 62nd percentile.

There are no reports that Legedu Naanee is crapping the bed in camp, because he's not. The point people are attempting to make is that if you watch him play football in games prior to this year, rather than just reading reports from local journalists at training camp, he's not very impressive.

He has been running with the 1st string in 3-WR personnel sets, but the reason for that is Brian Hartline is injured and has not been able to participate in anything. When Hartline gets healthy, suddenly Legedu Naanee is a 29 year old 4th wide receiver with no real special teams skills to speak of (hasn't played significantly there since 2008 according to PFF) and a mediocre-at-best body of work in the NFL.

Soooo...yeah, I can see people talking about him being cut. That's not absurd speculation. It may not ultimately be correct, but it's not absurd in any way. Rather, it's absurd to insinuate that it's absurd.
