i like how they said there wasn't a clear cut favorite in the qb battle but all i heard was good stuff for garrad
 
so wallace is making hay with the starters...well that's important...sounds like maybe he's turning the corner into a worthy nfl wr at least...there's no way they cut him with that size speed combo if thats the case with the way the rest of this unit looks...no way

There are no reports that Legedu Naanee is crapping the bed in camp, because he's not. The point people are attempting to make is that if you watch him play football in games prior to this year, rather than just reading reports from local journalists at training camp, he's not very impressive.

He has been running with the 1st string in 3-WR personnel sets, but the reason for that is Brian Hartline is injured and has not been able to participate in anything. When Hartline gets healthy, suddenly Legedu Naanee is a 29 year old 4th wide receiver with no real special teams skills to speak of (hasn't played significantly there since 2008 according to PFF) and a mediocre-at-best body of work in the NFL.

Soooo...yeah, I can see people talking about him being cut. That's not absurd speculation. It may not ultimately be correct, but it's not absurd in any way. Rather, it's absurd to insinuate that it's absurd.

Actually no, I'm not here to play contrarian at all. If you notice, I'm objecting to YOUR contrarianism. Someone in another thread posts the most faint praise I've ever heard ("at least he looks like he belongs") and you insinuate that he's being extreme. That's you playing the contrarian in an inappropriate situation. Similar here we have some people talking about Legedu Naanee not making the final roster, which again may not ultimately be correct, but isn't in any way an absurd piece of speculation, and you come at these people insinuating that they're taking crazy pills and that they're all delusional, etc. Again, you're unnecessarily contrarian in a situation that doesn't call for it.
 
i think Johnson, Bess, Wallace, Naanee, & either Pruitt or Gates make the roster ... Fuller &/or Matthews makes the PS
Moore, Cunningham, & Hartline get the axe. IT'S EARLY, but it's looking like Hartline's injury problems are making him fall out of favor in the competition- if he's hurt, he can't get the reps he needs
 
At this point it's almost impossible to tell which receivers make the roster. It's guesswork and not even very educational guesswork unless you've really followed some of these players' college careers and you're predicting based on evaluations of their talent.

Not least of the reasons it is impossible to tell is because preseason games will have a lot to do with this, and the opportunities that come during those preseason games can be very lumpy and at times random. Talent will have something to do with production in preseason but you're also so dependent on the opportunities and the people around you. Yet if a guy, say a Jeff Fuller for example, actually makes some big plays in preseason then suddenly you might be looking at having to keep him on the 53 man roster because you know you won't be able to sneak him onto the practice squad.

I'm not saying Legadu will make the team. The point was after 4 days worth of TC how on earth are people arriving at anywhere close to that idea? That's not contrarian. That is fact!

We can continue on about the "he belongs" comment if you'd like, but we both know you couldn't answer my questions and since then it's been all sarcasm from your part.

I'm just not understanding this ego-ic desire to round out the roster already by fans. It's reminiscent of the impatience of all the bridge jumping prior to this.

It's jumping off a bridge to speculate as to who makes the final roster? Really? Hey, whatever floats your boat, but then I don't understand why you're on a message board at all if that's the case. Why speculate about how many wins the team will get this year? Why not just wait until they win, and that way you know how many? Why speculate about how good players will be? Why not just wait for them to consistently perform for a few years, so that we can be sure they're actually good and consistent players, and then we'll talk about it after the fact?

Cam Wake. He sure is (verifiably) awesome. Let's talk about how great he is. And Jake Long. Wooh boy. They're awesome. Do you also agree that they are awesome?
 
Reading all these tweets makes me sooo excited for the pre season to see Tannehill take the null of the snaps in those games!!!

The point was trying to make claim to who makes the roster with a brand new system/team in place before TC's get done and preseason games are played is most definitely familiar to bridge jumping. All those people who thought the world was coming apart prior to Philbin's arrival. Again that's an ego thing. They want to be right about players like they do about the team be f'd for years without even letting the process play out.

You can have a message board and discussion without always having to decide the fate of players at every impasse this early on, which is routinely on display here.

The "LOL whatever" response had nothing to do with what I took for an obviously rhetorical question. Care to rephrase your all-important question in a manner that is not obviously rhetorical?
