Week 1 Dolphins vrs Jags week matchup thread

And you might be right, but when everyone else zigs, I zag.

Jags have a great defensive front and we are unproven on the oline. The Jags players all practice, our players all picnic.

I hope Im right TBH, because if the Jags put up close to 30 points we are gonna lose.

All valid points but I have to challenge the “great defensive front” narrative with the Jags. They were a stout 9th against the run last year but 27th getting to the QB and overall, their defense was 19th in yardage allowed.

There’s nothing great about those numbers. Jax is a good team, but definitely not great. Miami needs to go out and handle their business. They have the better roster and they need to get in the habit of beating good teams.

I’ve gotta respectfully disagree. I’m reading over and over again that we can’t take Doug Pederson and the Jags lightly but I don’t see many people mentioning that Jax’s Defense was bottom 10 in pretty much every pass defense metric last season as well as being in the bottom 10 at sacking the QB.

I think by the end of the season, Weaver’s defense will be formidable but going into week 1, Miami’s offense is ahead of the defense and there will be points aplenty for both sides with Miami ultimately winning by 10+ points.

I’m thinking 41 to 28 with both QB’s throwing for a **** ton of yards. Ultimately Tua plays a clean game, Miami wins the turnover battle and that’s the big difference.

Oh, and I also think it will be one of those games where Tua comes out slinging and the offense lights up the scoreboard heading into halftime and then bogs down a little in the 2nd half but still has enough juice to secure the week 1 win.
That's pretty close to what I expect 35-40 to 20-25 in favor of the Fins...

If we handle our 'buidness' we should win. if we fart around and turn the ball over we could lay the proverbial egg. Let's see how focused and dedicated to achieving the goal is this year. You have to win in September for the games to count later on.

After last year there should be no ****ing eggs on the field

Hill, Ramsey, Waddle, Tua, Terron, Jevon.

Better set the tone man.

Assuming Ramsey plays, I’m surprised so many people are so worried about our defense. The secondary is stacked. The LB corps is the best it has been in years with Long, Brooks, and Walker. Seiler, Campbell, and Jones will be fine. We might be a little light at edge early on, but there is decent depth.
