There's a big game tonight, and that's about all I can think about.

But to keep myself busy, I'm thinking ahead to the next day or two. Regardless of the outcome of tonight's game, Ireland will be making some roster moves. Specifically, since contracts are not guaranteed after week 1, a lot of FA vets will probably get signed this week around the league.

So, who's out there, who do you want, and who do you drop to get the guy you want?

Some names for discussion:

C Shaun O' Hara
G Leonard Davis
CB Will Allen
ILB Channing Crowder

Why is Crowder an option?

Well, he's unemployed, would probably not mind playing for the Phins, and gives better ILB depth compared to Spitler. That being said, there are a lot of negatives to bringing him in, and I personally would not be in favor, but I thought it was enough of an option to put him on the list for discussion.

Delete this thread and post in the game thread. WE GOT THE GAME TONIGHT WOOOOHOOO

I'm thinking OL, but still relatives to how they look tonight IMO.

Crowder isn't unemployed, he's retired and will be for this season.

My bad then. I know he announced that, but wasn't aware he actually filed the paperwork.

You got to put Garrard on that list......

Crowder did not file retirment papers, nor will he come back to the Fins

Will Allen is the only guy I would consider. I would like O'hara, but there has to be a reason no one picked him up plus I think it's obvious this staff wants Pouncey at center so they are not bringing in another center. We basically already have Leonard Davis in Vernon Carey.

Will Allen and O'Hara should be given looks. Surprised the Giants or Cowboys havent gone for Allen yet today. But Allen can sign with who he wants, may wait to see if Phins want him back since Dolphins should go after a vet or two.

I'm not sure if he actually filled out paperwork but he said if any teams come calling this season he's going to turn them down and be with his family. He said he'll come back next year.. or try to anyway.

Apparently Colts want Garrard, but Garrard wants to play in Miami...doesn't mean Phins want him, but he may wait a couple days to see. Garrard must know the Phins intend to start Henne...if he wouldn't mind being a backup, why not? We only have 2 QBs, and if he really wants to play for Miami *could be rumor* then he would probably sign a cheap one year deal?

You cant find a better backup for Henne is he gets hurt or plays poorly.

He apparently received several offers but turned them all down. He's pretty financially wise, but said this is a very important time in his family's life so he is taking a season off.

Honestly I think he is *nuts* because you're losing not only a whole season of pay (a guy like Crowder would easily make 2 mil a year in free agency) but a year of training and game tape. People won't resign you next season for anything near because they will be afraid you are out of football shape
