Week 12 AFC Playoff Picture: Dolphins 7th Seed in Playoff Hunt

The win over the Bills was huge for the Dolphins. They moved up from #11 to just outside the wildcard at #7. Meanwhile, the Bills fell off the playoff picture completely. There has been a lot of movement, especially among the AFC North teams. With several inter-division games left in the AFC North, expect that fluctuation to continue. The Dolphins have an opportunity to vault themselves up the playoff picture with a victory over the Broncos while knocking them into a wildcard slot (or worse).

If the season ended today:

AFC

1 Seed: Patriots
2 Seed: Broncos
3 Seed: Bengals (Previously #6)
4 Seed: Colts (Previously #3)
5 Seed: Chiefs
6 Seed: Steelers (Previously #7)

In the Hunt:
7 Seed: Dolphins (Previously #11)
8 Seed: Chargers (Previously #9)
9 Seed: Ravens (Previously #8)
10 Seed: Browns (Previously #4)


NOTES:
* Dolphins will lose a head to head tiebreaker to the Chiefs (at this point)
* Dolphins yet to play games vs 3 potential AFC playoff teams: Ravens, Patriots, Broncos
* The path to the playoffs seems clear: 10 wins (with victories over the Jets (twice), Ravens and Vikings)

Currently have a 43% chance of making playoffs and 15% chance at AFC East. A win against the Broncos moves that to 65%
 
who knows what the titans are thinking...undersized dline and lb core and playing in a 34...yeesh...jurrell casey miscast in that system...they will never stop anything down hill with that front 7...wrong scheme for the players they have
 
Win the games remaining 12-4 still might win the division. I keep saying the pats are gonna lose but they keep on winning. Still. GB is red hot. I think they get beat by GB the hotter team with the better QB
 
im looking at those afc north schedules the rest of the way and seeing it dicey at 10-6 now for us...new orleans looks to be mailing it in so if they are on the schedule its not an auto win for them that's for sure

i will be so pissed if we finish 10-6 and miss out...i mean so pissed

Luckily, New Orleans is tied for their division lead. So, if they get any of the AFC north at home they should win
 
Steelers and Bengals play each other twice, Browns will fall off sooner than later, and we have the tie break against SD (assuming they don't fall apart anyway). If we go 10-6 (and beat the Ravens), very strong chance that we take the #6 seed.

My ideal outcome is we play at Indy after they get 3rd seed and we get 6th. We can take Indy at home
 
yeah i dont think you can trust the saints at all...and with the bengals getting their starting lbs back now which was the big hole in that d cincis gonna be in it til the end even with dalton...just getting mauluga back sunday was huge for them once burfict comes back they will be nasty on d

those lbs they have been playing are flat awful...the lb depth terrible

this is ot but i think that move of clay matthews to mike may in fact be a super bowl trip worthy one for the packers...he's taken to that like a glove...huge difference in that d's overall play
 
i'll take indy or cinci personally in a wild card weekend matchup...bring it

although our right tackle play is probably gonna be the nail in our coffin when it comes be it postseason or regular season...especially if we ride the current scenario out...scheme can only hide so much

Was supposed to be at the Miami at Cincy playoff game last year. Had to settle for Chargers at Cincy.
That would be my best hope for the postseason if we get in on a Wild Card.
Every Dolphins game that I have attended in Ohio has been a Dolphin victory (5-0)
So we would have that streak going for us. LOL.
