Week 18 game times

Why aren't the AFC games on one network and the NFC games on the other network like it used to be? I don't like it the way it is now because I used to not have to think about which channel the Dolphins game would be on because it was on the same channel most of the time. But now I have to waste a few seconds of my life that I'll never get back checking both channels. I can't imagine it was done because of money. Why would the way it's done now be more lucrative for somebody than the way it used to be done? How did they decide which network the interconfrence games were on in the old days? By whoever the home team was?
NFL I guess makes more money this way?

They can't put the Chiefs Broncos game on Saturday since its possible that would make the Dolphins and Bengals games meaningless.

I think since the Ravens and Steelers played on Christmas and the Bengals played on Saturday is the reason they chose those as the Saturday games.

Lamar Jackson is good for ratings so that could be another reason they chose the Ravens for the early Saturday game.

The Bengals Steelers game is meaningful to both. The Bengals need to win to keep their season alive and the Steelers need to win to secure the 5 seed which is huge because its the difference between going to Houston or most likely Baltimore if the Ravens win earlier in the day which of course they will.
They could have done it if the Bengals/Steelers game was the early game on Saturday and then the Chiefs/Broncos game was in primetime. Ya the Dolphins game would possibly become meaningless but who cares at that point. It's about trying to have the most competitive games on Saturday and the Browns/Ravens game doesn't qualify as that. I think they would have had the Seahawks/Rams game on Saturday night if it was to win the NFC West but once the Rams clinched the division based on SOS that game was no longer an option.

CBS still typically has AFC and Fox has NFC but due to flexing the broadcasts can jump around now

I am slated (north of Utica NY)
I'm so sorry. Seriously. I grew up in New Hartford. Can't imagine still being there and not in an asylum. When's the last time you saw the sun?

Makes most sense to have both games on at the same time. If the Dolphins were to play at 1 and lose or the Broncos at 1 and win the other game would end up being meaningless.

The Chiefs / Broncos & Jets / Dolphin schedules make perfect sense...and I predicted it yesterday.

The Broncos will not know the outcome of the Dolphins' game...and visa versa.

The next Game Thread should be off the hook.
K but based on that shouldn't the Bengals/Steelers game be played at the same time instead of a day earlier? The Browns/Ravens game should be as well and the NFL could have picked two different games for Saturday.

It is interesting with the Bengals playing Saturday. If they lose, the Chiefs will know we get in if they beat Denver. Or they lose and let Denver in.

The vast majority of NFL fans online have us as the worst team(by a landslide) of the final 3 teams trying to get it.

I don't think the Bengals Steelers game being played a day before is a big deal.

The Bengals have to win that game no matter what.

The Dolphins and Broncos then play the following day at the same time. So everything is still at stake for both teams.

I think they were hoping the Rams Seahawks game would decide the NFC West for the prime time Saturday night game but when that didn't happen they chose the Bengals Steelers game which I think will be a good game.

I grew up in Syracuse, went to school at Oswego on Lake Ontario. Traveling home to cincy friday after thanksgiving and almost didnt make it out. They closed the highway going through Erie. We got really lucky ( thank you Yukon XL). Still have family in upstate NY. I wouldnt move back if you bought me a house.

Went to school with a kid from utica. Dad was a shady lawyer that had some crooked noses both watching out for him and looking for him..
Peace...

asking this here as I can't post a new thread (not that this is worthy of a new thread haha)

I keep hearing we will release Calais if we're out of the playoffs. I think it's a great idea. He's a 15 year stud and seemingly good person off the field as well. Question is if we lose Sunday can we still release him so he can sign on elsewhere or is it too late after the final game has been played?

I believe it would be too late by then. He would have to be released this week for him to clear waivers and sign with another team.
