I like that Sterling picked us to win. Theismann?!? No way in hell are we gonna triple team Kris Jenkins...

I think the triple team was an effect of the line not knowing who was coming and got confused on blocking assignments.

OH MOST DEF....Grove took him on last year 1 on 1 and won most of the battles...i think he is in better shape and we should expect to see the same will he win all of them no but he will win enough for us not to have to double team him.....which mean that smiley or thomas will be 1 on 1 with a LB which i will take anyday of the week.

and if they blitz they prob will play into our hands i know revis will have ginn on lock but bess and hartline should be able to get some quick route and since both have good hands Henne should just let it fly.

its gonna be a battle and i think we are better on both lines and that may give us the advantage needed to win the game.

I saw that one play Baldy showed.. And Alleman made a horrible play going all the way to help the center instead of blocking any of the two LB's that were right in front of him.

That's why we got rid of Ndukwe, Satele and Alleman on the interior O-line. Our interior O-line now is lights out a thousand times better than it was in the playoff game.

I could buy into us losing to the Jets, but Theismann's reasoning was absolutely idiotic. He just had no clue what he was talking about. Grove has dominated Jenkins before, so there's no way we're going to commit two guys to him regularly, much less three. We are a much better OL than we were last year. The Jets are not the Ravens. Jenkins is good, but their DEs are nothing special in the run game. They don't have a disruptive force like Ngata, an elite pass rusher like Suggs, or a LB half as good as Ray Lewis.

difference is we haev a CENTER now and a DOMINATED ROAD GRADER AT RG taht we didn't have last year.

Satele is 2nd STRING in OAKLAND that sppeaks volumes there alone.

Only diff isn' tjust htat, now we have a better defense ALSO a QB that can actually throw passes so they can't sit in the box b/c of Penny throwing short so they won't have 24234 ppl in the box like they did with teh Ravens or just cover the middle and make penny throw to the sidelines cuz now Henne can actually make those throws. can't wait for this test shoudl be interesting I am not going to lie though, I am ****ting my pants loll

they are spot on regarding what the dolphins have to do to win this game... i don't care what the jets do offensively because if we can control the ball like we did so far, against them ? it'll be a win...

obviously, a few drives will stall, this defence is incredible so don't expect us to run over them like they are the bills... this being said, if we can force a couple of turnovers by coming at sanchez, it should even things out and we will have a shot...

there is a consistent fallacy the jets sack riders assume. rex ryan stopped the wildcat with the raves, so no problem stopping it again with the jets.

football is a game of assignments and personnel. you have to know your assignment on the field, but you also have to man up and beat your opponent. the ravens have the players to win those individual battles. the jets are not the ravens, even though they have their old coach and his schemes now.

are they better than the bills? oh yeah. will we rush for 250+? really doubt it. but I also doubt they will just come in and easily stop our running game.

I still think for us to win, Henne is going to have to make a couple plays at critical points in the game. a 3rd and long to keep a drive going, a goal line play, or making a good read down field and getting a long pass completion, something...

one thing i thought was funny was theisman uses the 10 man line of NO to compare the dolphins wildcat.

Then to tip the cap, ball dinged shows how Baltimore stopped it and said the Jets saw it in the playoffs last year.

These guys have no clue. their just homers for the jets. thats it. end of story.

what they fail to realize is that the jets are not going to be as good as they are at home and as sterling points out, how can you pressure the dolphins when they run 50 yard drives with 10 plays. Thats called ball control.

We saw it on monday night vs. the colts. Difference is they had peyton manning and the jets have a rookie on the road who has a new WR who basically is going to be raw. The other supposedly has a hammy.

It all comes down to who turns the ball over more IMO. If indeed miami controls the clock with running the rock. The jets are done minus some turnover miracle.

yeah and we had him rolling out.

But I think our draw and screen plays have been working like a charm. The wildcat can lull you out of your game plan as the game goes on. Thats why if we control the ball, the jets start to come out of the blitz packages if the draws and screens have success.

I watched some of the buffalo game last night and the jets/patirots game.
1. we pass out of first down alot vs. buffalo and I can see the same thing vs. jets so they dont blitz there as much and if the jets get two LB's covering the middle, they might just find themselves running themselves out of a wildcat play. How? because ronnie has been instantly taking off to the outsides left and right following excellent blocking.

Also, there were no real gadget plays off the WC. We are waiting for the right moment IMO. If the Jets cannot stop us from getting first downs, we wont use it but if they start to, you will see something big.

I say the Jets can be beaten badly by their blitzes in this one. We have run draws and screens very well when the defense is suddenly looking for Henne to get pummeled only to find Ricky or Ronnie running downfield with a burst of punishment.

I will be watching that first qtr very closely.

Yeah its strange to hear, " If they stop the dolphins from running, they win!"

nevermind all the other aspect of the game..!! they win automatically!!!

ridiculous!

One thing I am absolutely counting on by the way. The refs will clearly be in Jets corner like always. So we have to overcome a big obstacle. The NFL doesnt want Miami in the playoffs. They can sell the Jets better for more $. Plus Goodell is a jets fan.

What I love about this game is everyone is talking about our offense being stopped by their defense because Ryan did it before with Baltimore. My question is where is Ray Ray, T.Suggs, K.Gregg, H.Ngata and more important to the entire defense E.Reed. E.Reed stopped our offense, he forced us to run more because he saw through Penningtons soul. We had open WR's and then Reed shut it down, the NYJ's are good we know that but their the dollar store defense compared to Baltimore's defense last year. Jenkins, Revis, are top notch... Harris, Scott, Pace, Leonard, Rhodes are good players that are second class compared with Baltimores defense last year. Then add the fact that we improved greatly in the interior of the line, this will be a good game but the only thing the NYJ's have are the throw aways from Baltimore and their Defensive co-ordinator.

Now the biggest thing in this game that no one is talking about is how is the NYJ's suppose to score at all on offense? They rely on a weak run game that will be shut completely down, now a rookie coming off a horrible start has to move the ball up and down the field. So his best and most comfortable WR is probably not playing in Cotchery, they added a new talent in Edwards but there will be zero timing, and no idea how he cuts in and out of his routes. Our pass rush has gotten stronger with Wake added into the rotation allowing the secondary to play closer and be more aggressive.

This game will come down to turnovers and field position, I think our defense will have more to do with the outcome then the JEST's defense.

David Harris is one of the best in the game. I'm not saying he's on the level of Ray Lewis in his prime, but he is still pretty awesome.
