Week 8 NFL Preview: Dolphins / Patriots...

I watched the Jets/Pats game on GameRewind, here's a few things.

Neither team really looked like they played a great game. A lot of guys dropping balls, missing tackles, bad effort chasing plays on the Jets defense which was surprising, etc...
I was surprised the Jets did not try to stick to the run more. Having Fits throw that much was a mistake even though he had a decent game.
The Jets also could not get pressure and resorted to a lot of blitzing and eventually got burned on that Gronk TD late when he slipped past blitzers and went out uncovered for a walk-in TD.
The Jets lost their cool and little I think and got blitz happy and played into the Pats hands there.
The Pats didn't even try to run the ball, when they did, results were bad. Hard to believe the Jets defense could not capitalize on the Pats being so one dimensional.

how often has a team beat a bad team the way the fins beat the Texans? i don't care how bad a team is, they don't get beat 41-0 in the first 20 minutes or so.

MJD says that it is all a mirage down in Miami. Patriots win big and it isn't even going to be close.

That's it. Hope they do underestimate us, would be a bad idea to do so with our mentality right now in my opinion...
Mirage was 2008. This team has talent and the last two weeks things are clicking.

That's been the Pats plan since late last season. Same thing happened with the Bills earlier this year and against Seahawks last year. If they don't feel like they can't run, they won't even bother. Being one dimentional has always been a bad thing, but not anymore. The way the Pats operate with the short passing game it's almost like a running game at the same time. Especially if Lewis is playing. Of course it helps to have a QB that can throw 55+ times a game without turning it over, but I've never seen anything like it before.

And yay, first post. Dolphins fan since '91 when I first visited Miami. Probably the only Dolphins fan from northern Scandinavia. Nobody really follows american football in these parts. But I also watch a ton of games every week and especially teams with great QB's, so I've seen that Pats "we won't even bother to run" thing too many times now.

Until we beat them, it is better to keep quiet.
We did beat two losing teams. The Pats are super bowl champs.
It is in their house. Smart money picks the Pats.
That said, this Fins team is surging. We may just shock the world.

I kind of agree with him. For all kinds of reasons, it's very hard to look past the Pats at home.

BUT, if you're going to say Dan Campbell's two victories are a "mirage" because they came against underperforming teams, what about the Pats wins against poorly-playing teams? At the end of the day a win is a win and these were two BLOWOUT wins.
