When the dolphins announced the game at wembley I knew I had to go ! I had tickets the last time the phins played at wembley in 2007 but it clashed with a holiday to orlando so I had to sell those tickets and while in Orlando I drove down to miami for a home game against the patriots the week before wembley and if anybody has a good memory that was the 2007 game where the phins were something like 42-7 down at the half !

Any ways onto the London game we left our home town of bridgwater somerset uk at 8.30am on the Friday via coach to London hammersmith station we arrived at 12.15 midday and straight to our hotel at marylebone to drop off our suitcase which was really heavy. I wanted to go to the nike shop called niketown on regents st this is the UK flagship nike store because I wanted to purchase a jersey for the game on Sunday and by viewing the online game merchandise catalogue I knew the jerseys were £5 dearer from the nfl shop at wembley and the fan rally on the Saturday. I also knew because regents st was going to be shut on Saturday for the nfl fan rally that it would be packed on Saturday. Got the nike store and for the UK there was a good selection of dolphins gear jerseys from tannehill, Wallace, hartline and wake.

here is my wife in the store

I bought a white Brian hartline jersey(£70) and a petrol blue coloured coaches polo shirt (£40) the sizes are huge and bought a large in both I'm normally XL or XXL lol. As the whole weekend was nfl based with the fan rally on Saturday and the game Sunday I decided to treat my wife to a surprise? While we found a nice pub for a meal and a few beers I surprised her with 2 tickets to see the west end show Wicked at the appollo victoria theatre that night so she was very happy and it put me in her good books for the rest of the weekend !

The view of the stage from our seats

and my wife taking a selfie of us both

the drinks in the theatre are very dear 2 bottles of calsberg larger £12 !!!!!! The lady serving us asked if we want to order drinks for the interval I politely declined lol. The show was very good not really my thing but wife loved it so that was great.

On to Saturday and today was the NFL fan rally at Regents st the whole road was closed to traffic all day and the nfl had different points where you can try out throwing kicking and a nfl combine stats area to test your skills. The whole street packed with fans from all 32 nfl teams

met the black hole

1 pm on the main stage they had players/coaches and special guests all afternoon doing interviews first up was joe rose

Bob Griese up next

Raiders players are up next mack, carr, Watson as he is English and they all had mini football's that they threw into the crowd and luckily I managed to catch one !!!

The high light of Saturday for me was when the dolphins players(tannehill, odrick, trusnik, hartline) came on the stage and of course my childhood hero Dan Marino

Sunday was game day and it was a beautiful morning the sun was beaming down and kick off was not until 6 pm so first thing in the morning we decided to go to Buckingham palace we have been to London countless times for soccer games theatre etc but never really done the sights

my wife outside the gates

Around 11.30 am after a stroll up the mall we decided to head to Wembley on the underground we sat next to 3 dolphins fans from Las Vegas once at the stadium there was plenty of things to do and see outside the stadium all the attractions from the fan rally was there a huge nfl shop a new era shop I bought a dolphins cap from there.

we decided to que up and see the superbowl trophies on display in the raiders truck and have a beer while waiting

me with the trophies

We watched the dolphins players and staff arrive via coach around 2.30pm and then as we had club wembley seats (£150 per ticket) we had early entry to the stadium and the bars at 3 pm so decided to drink some more beers inside

The view from our seats

The players warming up

Pregame entertainment was Def Leppard who I really like but they weren't great just ok

Game pics 85000 nfl fans

After the game we walked back to the tube station along with 60000 other people and I thought we would have to wait hours for a train but london underground were amazing we walked straight onto the tube and back to our hotel within 30 minutes

Monday was our last day and our coach home was at 3 pm so after breakfast we but our luggage into the hotel storage and headed for the tower of London. It was very moving there as they have 800,000 porcelain red poppies one for every british person killed in world war 1

We had an awesome time in London even my wife enjoyed the game and said she will go to miami and watch a game with me in the future. I do think it would of been cheaper for me to catch a flight to miami get a ticket for a home game stay in a hotel for 2 night and fly back to the UK because I think the 4 days cost be over £1200 which is just under $2000 but the win and the performance from the phins made it all the worth while

cheers

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

Glad you had a good time... and a better outcome than your last Miami experience. You're probably right, a few round trip tickets bought well in advance plus a few days hotels and car rentals experiencing the cool aspects of South Florida, especially in winter time, might likely result in more bang for the bucks.

Great pics! My photos look identical from the trip (except a different wife haha) We were probably literally feet from each other on regent street and by the looks of it we had similar seat tickets. Good times thanks for sharing

I noticed this also:  Damn, even his left arm moves too fast to follow.

(yes, I know it's a photo "trick" - but at first glance Hartline's arm looks like the finishing placement of Dan's moving arm.)

General question to Wayner - How did Ryan Tannehill go with the microphone in his hand addressing a big crowd? Did he seem to enjoy the spotlight or not? I sometimes get the impression that while he does the perfunctory tasks, that he really doesn't enjoy it and appears to be flat. (In contrast, Hartline is a terrific public speaker and he clearly enjoys it).
Maybe part of Tannehill's development is also becoming a more confident public speaker. Maybe self confidence is a key part of his development on and off the field.

Tannehill was very good at public speaking very confident unlike our head coach who really doesn't sound like he knows what he is doing? Jared odrick is really cool and a lot of fun taking selfies with the fans waving behind him!
