First off, they don't make it easy on us often, but I love them anyway. That being said, did anybody else notice the huge cross hanging from Mike Singletary's neck? I don't really care if he is wearing it, but I wondering if it is against league rules since in 25+ years watching football I have never seen a coach with visible Jesus bling. I doubt the league would ever say anything as the PR nightmare it would cause, but is there some obscure rule like the one banning suits on the sideline unless Reebok makes it?

I noticed that too. I always thought coaches and players had to tuck it under their shirt

Belichick is much more discreet with his pentagram, so that is an interesting observation. Some guys just keep their faith more to themselves.

With all the post game prayers and what not I don't think the NFL cares about religious expressions, heck just listen to any interview and see how many times they thank Jesus for helping them throw a pass or make a tackle. I just found it odd that no one else has ever worn a cross on the outside while coaching. Maybe Reebok makes the cross for him.

Your kidding me right??? Um, this is the USA. The 1st, that's right, the "FIRST" Amendment is a FREEDOM OF RELIGION, SPEECH, ....

...where do you get your logic from? Wow. Go back to England if you don't like seeing "public" Jesus pieces...sheesh. :rolleyes2:

:sidelol:...I likes that....:sidelol: I was the only one who got it...

I repeat I don't care if he wants to carry a life size cross up and down the sideline. I just noticed it because it stood out because no else does it. Remember about 10-15 years ago the league banned signs with bible quotes on them, and I honestly could care less. My point was if he is the only coach who does it, why? Simmer down I did not mean any offense.

I'm all for that, so long as any and all faiths are allowed to be displayed.

No one has ever stopped any and all faiths from being displayed....its always the atheist religion that terrorizes Christians from displaying theirs...see the news...

I saw it too and thought it was great. They should be allowed to display their faith.

Yeah, I loved it too. Thought it was cool. I also loved how Terry during the pre game show made the point to go against the pro gay/anti-Christ agenda to wish everyone a MERRY "CHRIST"MAS and a Happy New Year...instead of that lame happy holidays crap they are pushing on the public.... :woot: Merry Christmas!!!! Go Terry for standing up for your RIGHTS!

I thought it was crap. Keep your beliefs to yourself Singletary, you pompous a**.

Wonder if you thought it would be cool to "display your faith" if it was some type of muslim insignia.

Spoken like a true defender of religion.:shakeno:

"The Atheist Religion". That sounds like an oxymoron. :D
I'm personally against the stifling of religious expression, and that includes the ACLU's efforts. But I also think that individuals need to be willing to see and accept displays of religions that are not their own.

Belichik usually keeps his pentagram hidden but I did see him pull out a pen with a baphomet goat on it during a recent game (he also had the symbol on his headset. He tries to cover it with his hand when the cameras zoom in on him. watch closely the next time they play) . Also, one of his first paychecks from Bob Kraft was made out to "Bill Beezelbub".
The last time the Pats played the Jets, ole' Bill made no attempt to hide the Eric Mangini voodoo doll he kept in the pocket of his hoodie.
