Weis: Browns the perfect fit for Quinn

I ran across this article today, and it featured some eye opening remarks from Charlie Weis regarding BQ. Here's a couple:

"I'm willing to put my name with him because I'm that sure of him," said Weis. "Brady has the ability to lead an organization for over a decade and that's what you want if you're picking that high."

"Contrary to many people's opinions, it's not because I coached him," said Weis. "It's because he had four years of tape to watch on Tommy Brady. He studied and ran every play that Tommy's ever run. What's more, he's had open communication with Tommy for the past two years."

This whole "connection" thing, both the Weis/Crennell one and the Quinn/hometown hero one, are what have me REALLY worried about the Browns. I've been saying it all along that they are our biggest threat BECAUSE of those reasons.

We'll see how it all plays out though. Hopefully it's just Crennell using his Weis connection to have Charlie say stuff to make teams think the Browns will take him and get them trade offers. It's a big conspiracy theory, I know, but it's what I'm hoping because I wanna see Quinn here, not there

EXACTLY!!! This is a big smoke screen...the Broncos took Jay Cutler last year and not once did they interview Cutler or bring his name up....teams usually talk about guys they are not interested in because they don't want

A conspiracy theory would be that BQ goes to Miami where the Pope once visited. Further, there are alot of anti-Castro Cubans who are Catholic. :D

I don't agree, I think Savage & Crenell are under alot of pressure from management to win now. They draft Peterson & they have a really good one-two punch this year, a solid back for the futre & the continued development of Frye (& Anderson for that matter).

Its possible they'll pick Quinn, but if they do & they don't win, I think they'll both be fired......

I agree with that... the Browns didn't sign Lewis because they thought he'd take them to the playoffs, they took him to contribute as a runner and mentor a new guy.

Quinn looks like a bust to me. I hope Cleveland takes him. Brady was picked up in the later rounds and from what little I have read there are two or three guys as good that will be available in rouns two and three. The Sporting News says Quinn is like Joey Harrington. That is enough to turn my stomach at the thought of using the nine pick on him.
