does this open the door for miami to draft Ted Ginn JR? do we sign Terrance Wilkins who returned kicks for Indy last year? Where do we go now?

Whoever you get will at least be as good as Welker and probably better. Welker was a below average return man.

Well Ginn would be an interesting signing. People keep talking about Yatil Green and Troy Williamson. Ginn has more talent than both of those guys, and if it came down to it, I wouldn't mind him at all. He is a burner and a Special TEams specialist. I mean actually love trying to get Joe Thomas and Kalil somehow, but seeing that is a pipe dream . . . Ginn is definitely someone to consider. It solves any special teams concern and gives us a guy to groom to become an excellent receiver ala Steve Smith (who didn't break out at receiver until about 3 years in the league)

marcus vick guys......why do you think cam let welker go. it is now vicks turn
hahaha i wish that'll be the day, but im so happy we got JOEY PORTER!!! it's about time

I am repeatedly told that wes was avg at the least...but no one telling how he was the first guy in nfl to lead KR/WR/PR for a team in 15 yrs.I am yet to hear some logic how a avg guy performace was first in 15 yrs.

Welker had one return touchdown in three years. Return touchdowns aren't common, but he wasn't any better than average. Special teams play is important and I have a hard time believing we couldn't improve on Welker.

By the way, if you didn't notice, leading the Dolphins in receiving last year was about as much of an accomplishment as beating a 4-year-old in Scrabble.

I've been warming up to picking Ginn at #9 or with a trade down. Check out his exceleration at the 4:34 mark of this highlight video. He's moving laterally while two would-be tacklers are moving up field to get him. At the last minute, he sling-shots away with sick acceleration. The rest of the video is pretty telling of what this kid can do. The only question is, do you take a ST specialist with future WR skills in round one?

Exactly.

If we take Ginn, people have to realize that he wont solve our WR issues right away, but he will solve our Special Teams one. Ginn would probably be the 4th WR behind Chambers/Hagan/Booker (if we keep those guys . . Booker I'm starting to doubt), and eventually take over as a starter in the slot for us. By his third year, I could see no Chambers and Booker on this team, and we would have Hagan and Ginn, along with another big name WR.

Its a solid pick for this team, because he would contribute right away.
