Welker, Jones fined.

Ok the welker fine, I think is questionable but at least it's understandable.

But a fine for a face mask? I dont remember it being that bad.

Is the NFL low on cash or something? These seem like rather petty.
 
I think the NFL goes a little too far in protecting quarterbacks...Also, did Welker even get penalized on that block?

That is a joke you know he didn't do it intentionally he was triing to sack the QB!
 
Agree... he wasn't intentionally going for the facemask. His arm came around for the tackle and the QB moved his head into the path of his arm!
 
Let the QB just take a hit, next they will be banning sacks on the QB. I mean gees.
 
'Welker's is right, the illegal crackback is one of the NFL's "no no's" but the facemask is the most rediculus fine ever!
 
I can understand the crack back fine on Welker...major NFL-don't-do. But what's the deal with the fine for a FACEMASK???? That's totally ridiculous. Before you know it were gonna be playing flag football. :lol:

Wes Welker's fine, I understand. An illegal crack-back, the NFL doesn't want to see that, still a bit questionable to fine him $5000 for it though in my opinion. But... TeBucky gets fined for that facemask??? First of all it wasn't even intentional, he was just trying to take down the QB. And also... hell, that was the play that he injured his hamstring on. So he gets a sack... they take it back because they call a 15 yd face mask, he injures his hamstring on the play, and now he gets $5000 for it.
 
This is getting crazy. I hope Jones fights that fine. There is no way a player should get fined for a facemask, unless it was blantant and malicious. Jones was just playing the game and unintentionally grabbed the facemask while trying to sack Delhomme.

That's BS!!!!!!!!
