Welker's NCAA Records

It has come to my attention that Wes holds the NCAA records for Punt Return yards and Punt Return TDs. I had no idea of this. Cool.

Welker dominated the NCAA punt return records during his career at Texas Tech. He set the Career Punt Return Yardage record with 1,761 over the last four seasons and established a new mark in Most Career Punt Returns for Touchdowns (8). Welker also owns the single-season record for Punt Returns (57) and Punt Return Yards (752), both coming in 2002.

You hold the NCAA record for career punt return yards and punt return touchdowns. If you could break one NFL record what would it be? “I would love to be the career leader in punt and kick return yards. That would mean that I played for a very long time.” (Note: Brian Mitchell holds both records with 4,999 punt return yards and 14,014 kick return yards. Welker had 464 and 1,313 yards respectively in his rookie year in 2004).
