I fully agree CK, especially in the first year when the body is still used to carrying a heavier load. I used to work at MuscleTech and we read studies on this stuff all the time. It's like having a V12 engine in a miata. Eventually the body adapts, though, and because you really aren't carrying as much weight, your disproportionate expplosive strength declines a bit. But, even at that declined level, you would STILL maintain more speed at the lighter weight than the original weight. The absolute best, though, is that first few months to year when the muscles are still equipped to push a heavier body and have only a light one to move.
Great example was Ricky Williams when he arrived here and had dropped weight from his New Orleans playing weight. he had SO much explosion. The next year his explosion wasn't quite the same as his muscle strength had adapted to his lighter frame. He was still faster than when he was heavier, but not CRAZY explosive. But boy oh boy, that first year after a muscular athlete with speed sheds weight, he can FLY.
I'm guessing Wes dropped his weight awhile ago though, but still, his quickness and speed definitely look good. Not sure they are better than the 4.6 range though. Maybe 4.5 at best. Maybe.
